Hi again,

CS - I'll get a group shot next time I have them all out of storage - they're doing a fair deal of touring at the moment so I'm afraid I dont always have them to hand. They're quite large however, Definitely on the Heavy side of MBT. Equivilent I guess to a Kraytonian Arkalest or a Pax Mammoth tank, though I've not stood any of them side by side myself yet!

The army is progressing at a very pleasing rate I must say & its proving well worth the long hours I'm pulling most days to get it all done. :D

But what you really want to know is that I've posted fully painted preview pictures of a couple more units in the next release wave.

The Human artillery piece is now up on show,as is the other, slightly heavier in design, walker for the andrayada (with both its standard weapons fits, althoughthe arms are entirely interchangeable with thelighter variant for more variety  ).

(almost) Daily Previews & army updates continue!

Most of the armour in the force is now table ready & the infantry is under way.

The Andrayada MBT skimmer is shown as the preview once again, with another of its optional weapons loads.

Link in my sig ;)

Hi all,

Another Andy weapons option for the Andy tank today. I'll get something more interesting up next week for all you android haters, dont worry ;)

Also posted the first WIP pics of the Infatry for my Kraytonian forces - the Kameli were the first to see the brush & turned out pretty cool :)

Consectari: Since they're travelling around a bit at the monment & wrapped in storage cases in between outings, I'm afraid I'm unlikely to get a chance to get all tehmodels out for the photos & measurements I've had requested by various people until monday when I'm personally taking them to show off the range at a local gaming club. It sounds pathetic, and I'm sorry, but I simply havent had time even just to "whip the models out" & measure them - 12-20 hour working days are the current habbit when I'm home! (counting painting Kraytonians as work,- they're mine, but they HAVE to be done for DRM too!).

Well, all has been its usual busy self at DRM & the Mercenary Brush.

My workbench has continued to see updates to the Kraytonian army, which is nearing stage 1 completion already!
24 vehicles, 12 very big reptiles & 36 stands of infantry in just under 3 weeks
But there's more to do yet!

The demo'ing has been completed for the moment & From next week, we have a small army of local gamers who all enjoyed the demos to playtest for us in the lead up to Salute. :D

It also means that the Display models have finally come back into my cabinets here at Mercenary Brush HQ & I can catch up on the comparison photos & measurement requests whcih I've been getting quite a few of lately.

I've started a new thread on the DRM boards for just this info & lots of pictures.

If I dont get teh comparisons or measurements you want up in the next day or so, please drop me a line or a note onthe forums. As I say - I've had a lot of these & will try to work through them all, but there's a lot of minaitures in our ranges already & sadly I cant do a direct comparison of everything!

How has it been almost a fortnight since I last posted here????

Crikey, well things havent been that quiet in Brush-land, I can assure you!

The progress on both the Kraytonian (my own) and Andrayada (for Doug) Armies continues at a furious pace & there's plenty of pictures (I almost put "pretty pictures" - but you can decide that for yourselves ;)  ) of the progress to date.

I've also just uploaded the first painted pics of one ofthe models from our next line of miniatures.

Please note - its not necerssarily from our next RELEASE as such - there's lots of other DRM minis to come out yet (including the much-lacking and much-asked-after Human Super Heavies!), but they will be around by the end of the year :D

Link in my sig as always

Ooh! Very nice!
I'd love to see more of the variant paint schemes you've been working on. Just a bit of constructive criticism based on my initial thoughts: Green/bone(bubonic brown?) scheme: Basically a great choice: The detail stand out very well from the main body and it does look suitably different from any other manufacturers schemes I can think of off the top of my head. I'm slightly unsure about the vibrant green next to the more subdued bone color (although that could also just be my screen settings :p :D :;): ). Perhaps make both colors "vibrant" or both subdued? If going for the latter there's a risk of making them look a bit too similar to the Rakkat riders though. Since this is an "alien" style race then maybe look into other colors than bone? Of course there's no need to end up with horrible schemes like the GW studio Nids at the time of Hive War's release, but maybe something slightly inspired by the Arachnid spider bugs from Starship Troopers? Anyway just a few thoughts. Regardless I'm sure you'll come up with a great looking finished result :;):

Thanks for the comments guys.
I'll see what I can do about getting the other schemes posted soon. I had to beg Doug* to put this one up, but I'm sure I can now wangle permission for the others too ;)

I know what you mean about the vibrant colours next to the subdued. I wanted it to look alien, so thought I'd mix it up a bit from my normal style. (The bone is actually relatively vibrant too however - I didn't succeed entirely in breaking myself away from the usual rules!).

The Arachnids fron SST were actually on my mind for a colour scheme test intheir style as well. I havent done so yet, as with all the studio colour schemes to date, I've gone for things which can look really cool, but that the average painter can also mimic to an extent for their entire army.

Going for something akin to the Arachnids would envolve large amounts of detailed freehand, which may be seen as out of the grasp of a lot of painters in this scale. Your commenting on them does tempt me further down this route however! ?

*well, thats a lie, I didn't have to beg - he's a nice guy really! - just persuade him we had enough juicy previews for the Salute weekend to spare one a little early ;)
