I understand your concern, however based on the existing lists statistically artillery is always a little cheaper than most other formations with equal firepower.

Baran Siegemaster get 18 units (9 transport/9  arty) for 450 with twice the range. 9 MM with 9 Rhinos is 490.

A IG mechanized company also for 450 is more manouverable and can easily get inside thier range to avoid the Ignore Cover arty ability, and shoot them up with up to 21 dice.

9 MM with 9 Rhinos is 490. If you add a character you lose two MM and the cost goes up higher... adding a Trade Factor (for Leader) with Rhinos would be 505 points for 7 BP Ra 90cm.

Given thier range and slow speed I think they are in line with the rest of the game. They certainly are no match for other artillery formations and can't hold against an aggressive advance. Any higher costs and they are not worth having.

The only other thought is limiting the LGB MM to 6 for 250 with no upgrades, but that messes with the lists' style and simplicity (and 6 is not too "grand"  :D )

as always playtesting will prove, disprove or remove. :laugh:

Hi all,

Made another adjustment to a weapons profile:

Crucible Cannon goes to 4+MW (3+ generated too many casualties).

anybody spot anything else this month?

The Mole Mortar shift as well as the scaling back of the LGB formations has proven to be a correct move while the overall effectiveness (or unfairness) of the Hellfury cannon is still under examination.

I sent v2.2 to Moscovian. He has much more skill in posting these things.

The last change was the scaling back of the Cyclops Hellfury Cannon to 2x MW 3+ (TK 2)

Overall the list plays very well against any army, and the victories are earned.

The tunneling is not recommended as an all or nothing strategy. The best usage is a mix of complementary formations that can support each other.

The Stubborn ability is decent since it is not unit specific, but it was not found to be over balancing.

As lists go it I think it worked out quite well.

I hope any of you who enjoy these models find this useful for your games in Epic A!
