Hi LITS,

That's life! LOL :)

I have too many projects as well:

- 28mm Dollar Tree Ninjas
- 28mm WHFB Undead Pirates
- 10mm ASQL Sci-fi
- 6mm E-A Jopalli and others...
- 6mm DBA / HOTT
- 6mm Nappies
- 6mm Starfighters

Although right now, my major project has been:

- Dating a life-size woman...

That's the most expensive and time-consuming one...

Sometimes I miss just getting a little superglue on my fingers... LOL :)

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I dunno about that, Maksim.  Sometimes I think that even my hobbies are more expensive than dating (especially at the rate I've been going through minis these days).

Well, I just got the news that my Germans are en route, and should arrive around the middle of next week.  The bajillion (well, 40 or so) half-tracks should be arriving soon as well.

I'll try to get some pics up at some point, but I have a distinct lack of a digicam.  I'll have to see what I can do.  I might be able to borrow a friend's camera.  Unfortunately, one of the guys in the FoW group is an incredible painter.  He likes the American Airborne forces (hey, he was one, so it makes sense), and I think he pulled out his unit histories to get the uniform details right.  You can actually recognize the airborne patches on the sleeves of his guys.  It's incredible how good his minis look.  He makes for a very hard act to follow.

This weekend tends to be a little zoo-y, since it's my church's big Christmas concerts (Saturday afternoon, Sunday afternoon, and Monday night).  That, combined with the mandatory OT at work making my shifts start @ 0400 local and last until 1430 or so, doesn't leave much time for playing.  Hopefully, we'll be off the mOT after next week, so that I can get back some sanity.  By the end of my shift Friday, I was pretty loopy from sleep deprivation combined with caffiene overdoses.

"It is by caffiene alone I set my mind in motion.  The beans of Java give thoughts speed.  The hands begin to shake, the shake becomes a warning.  It is by caffiene alone I set my mind in motion."

"MASTER CAUTION - Caffiene Level Low"

those were the kinds of jokes we had running on the chat sessions at work.

Maksim, if you're not able to laugh about life, you need to stop and re-assess your priorities.

Well, the construction of the horde has begun.  I realized that I'd made a terrible miscalculation, though.  I don't have enough infantrymen to make the Panzershreck bases I 'need' for the force.  It's OK, though, as I can simply re-assess the distribution of the weapons.  (One FoW medium base per platoon, instead of one FoW small base per squad is really tempting)

Still haven't ordered the GearKrieg stuff, as my Christmas purchases list continues to grow.

Nonetheless, this project continues to perk along nicely.  It's also going to be my Tale of Tactical Gamers army (yeah, yeah, I know I spent the entire project budget ahead of time.  Sue me), so you'll be able to see it grow in bite-sized chunks of roughly a platoon at a time.

I know the feeling all too well. I'm on a limited budget yet would very much like to get Command Decision: Test of Battle,  Cold War Commander, Flames of War hardback rulebook, new Warhammer, a few GHQ combat commands, DRM tanks, Some more Warlord Crusaders, Eldar Codex, a couple of military history books and a Deathsaurer. Then there are DRM infantry, Exodus Wars infantry, various terrain items from Old Crow and  DRM. Oh to have been born rich. ***  :(

This little project may just about inspire me enough to digg up the notes I made for a Finnish GK history.

***Just a random rambling I had to add: the most ironic thing about this is that compared to the vast majority of this mudball's population I indeed am filthy rich.

I had a stroke of luck while I was traveling over the holidays.  One of the hobby stores I went to has a hard time moving stock (which sucks for them, but is great for me), and I found a copy of the basic GearKrieg book.  I've started the conversion process, but the gears in the basic book are pretty much lightly-armored toys.  The most heavily armored gears are similar to a Panzer 3, the mediums are equivlaent to an 8-rad, and the lights are equivalent to a Sd Kfz 251 halftrack.  Point just about anything with an AT value in their direction, and a 'Gear is dead.

I'm still going to get that GK super-pack, though.  It's got all the really evil stuff!

In GK the lack of armour is compensated by the speed of the gears (trust me, in DP9 systems is better to go to vattle in a motorcycle than in a battleship!). Maybe you could create some rules to reflect that (like giving tehm armour + the saving throws unarmoured vehicles have, or something like that)

OT: What a headache i got for the last three days :S:S:S:S "The longest headache"

Yeah, I know that the Gears are a little less likely to be hit, but in FoW that's controlled by the unit's training level.

It's going to be a little interesting getting this translation done, I guess.

Y-O, drink some more, it'll cure the hangover!  (actually true, but your better bet is to drink more water)

The P-1000 model is very cool !  I recognized the turrets and things from other "sources" ... Reminds me of an ORGE !  :D

Indeed !  But a Company of Slammers M2s could handle the P-1000 !  But since I don't have any, it's safe !  :;):

L4, a platoon of M9 combat cars could tear up a P1000 Ratte, nevermind a company of blowers!

A P1000 is too small to be a BOLO, even a Mk1!

I've ordered some German 3-ton trucks to better represent the way that the Kerberos Panzer Cops are deployed in the comics, I just need to find some good weather for priming all the minis I have in the works right now!
