Interesting read as always Chroma. However I've now noticed that you're lagging behind the the background story ... you haven't updated it to many of recent batrep threads :D.

Yeah, I've noticed that... and have almost felt bad about it!  *laugh*  I've got rough notes for the various stories.

Well, my girlfriend is out of town this weekend, looks like the Sunday D&D game isn't going to happen... so, that leaves me lots of free time to write... I hope!

I don't know if that was a mistake. The leman russes las cannon didn't shoot. Honestly I would have waited for the bio-titan to make the move first, as they aren't that evil in first turn (unless you go to them).

Well, *I* felt a sinking feeling when those Russes came around the corner... *LAUGH* I'm very glad my opponent wasn't "daring" enough to bring the Lascannons to bear... one more wound on the Hiero' and it would've just died a pointless death in Turn 2. ?Like all big gribblies, people seem to fear them more than they're actually worth... which is fine by me! ?*laugh*

Most people I've played against also have an irrational "fear" of the flamer template, so they seem to work extra hard to eliminate any units that have them.

Mech co 1?

Yep! ?Corrected.

That looks like a good plan ...  Fire with your armor in a Support by Fire position and advance to contact with the other elements ... Tactically sound ...

First activation, sustain with tank company. Target the bio titan. 20 dice 4+,3+ hits. Should have been a goner. The allow nid to react. Then advance with warhounds and blast swarm 2 (again better to hit due to the AP targets). Assault with mech company into FF with warhounds supporting. Instad he fired the AP targeting units into the bio titan ...

First off, if I'd been the Imperial Commander, I probably wouldn't have fielded the Warhounds as a pair... *laugh*

Yep, Hena, your choices seem tactically sound... but when it's the heat of the battlefield, we don't always make the right choices.  As well, if the Guard had scored one more hit on the Hierophant, things would've been radically different.

I agree that it probably wasn't the best choice of activations, but I hate always asking my friends "Why'd you do that instead of that?"... though I really would like to know!  *laugh*

another awsome battle rep chroma. one question tho, i understand that the favour of the queen is a story line thing, and im all for a good story with my bloodshed !!! however shouldn't the gaurd get some kind of extra perk too balance this ? or am i just missing somthing in my ignorance ?( i dont get to play games much anymore cause i moved away from my gaming group about the time i got into e.a., so i just paint alot of figs and wish i had somone to fight, sorry if this is obvious to everybody else. )

In a fair and perfect world, yes, the Imperials would get something to "balance" Favour of the Queen... but, we don't live in a perfect world.   :D

In reality, over all the games (we're talking the entire campaign), the Favour of the Queen has saved, I believe, 3 Carnifex... yep, that's it.  *laugh*  I either forget which swarm has it, have already lost the swarm's Synpase creatures to other failed saves (No "double" invulnerable saves for Hive Tyrants), or the formation with the Favour doesn't get attacked!  *laugh*

Perhaps I should have called it the Flavour of the Queen, because it was just included to be a cool bit of light fluff for the campaign.

I appreciate your concern, and I'll address it in the eventual campaign book.  My opponents have never had a problem with it... because it's had such an insignificant effect.  *laugh* *sigh*

Oh, i just am Interested to look at my battles and think what did I do wrong. And since my friend asked me to do same for him ... I do it partially for my opponent as well. Same principle here.

It's all aftergame stuff :D.

Oh, I feel the same way Hena!  I always like to think tactical analysis.

Unfortunately, most of our EPIC gaming occurs in the evening and once the battles are over, most opponents are ready to head home to bed... I'd love to grill them though.  *laugh*

Another excellent, Batrep, but you really do need to get cracking on the background story.  :D
