Congrats, CC. Looks like you have plenty of room.  :)  Nice looking house, too.

I figured that was insulation. I just assumed it would get covered with sheetrock, but I guess you really don't need to since it looks okay.

Nice house CC,
Plastic bag insulation, hmmmm, not something I'd recommend to a client but then climate is rather different over here.
So when are invitations going out?   I'm on the hunt for a slightly bigger house (an extra bedroom....... :D ) as at the moment I'm shoved under the bed

Great house, and a great basement, CC! I must admit that, as a Brit, I've always been quite jealous of the basements American houses seem to have - just perfect for Wargaming rooms!

Enjoy your new play-room! :;):  :D

Took possesion today.

Happy but it feels weird.  Something that you saw built over 10 months is suddenly home.

That makes (at least) two of us.  :D

I'm sure it won't be too long before it seems like home.

This just means a bunch of us need to head over there and get in a big housewarming bash in the basement.

I am very happy for you and your family. I think it is a wonderful feeling to move into a new house and know it is yours.  :)

Enjoy!

Hi guys,

Thanks for the nice words.

Well I've been moving boxes and funiture for two days so my big round body hurts.

The beginning of the game room started.  My two 2.5' x 8' tables were brought our of storgae today after two years of living in the dark.

We have discovered that with any new house there are going to be issues because we are the first to try out everything.

First we somehow blew out the power in the master bedroom.  So we have to call the electrical guy back.

Second, We have a new fancy water heating system that came with the house.

It's tankless and heats water on demand, I guess the Europeons will be more familar with it than us Yanks becasue I never heard of it unitl I saw it go in the house, but was told it was very common in Europe.

Look here for details

While it does work and you can have an endless stream of water there is one catch.  You have to have enough water being pulled to trigger the syetm.

So in our first night we discovered that one sink doesn't draw enough water to activiate the system; while two will.  Once you get it going you can shut of the other, but it's really annoying.  Hopefully it is just a setting the plumber can set.  We see.

So I may be here only off and on over the next month, but I will return with pics and a battleboard.

-Lou

Don't they use systems like that in hotels now in the US?

Not THIS European.... and believe it or not, we DO use hot water here - winter is very cold due to the darned humidity which gives us broiling summers....

I'm guessing it can be adjusted, Luis - there should be a flow meter which activates the heater somewhere.

Wow, a high tech home - do you have an enginseer stored in a broom cupboard too?  :p
By the way - pics of the games room WITH tables - please?  :D

And congrats again.
