Hi, I was wondering what colors people use to do desert themed bases. Base coat, highlights and trim color. Thanks

A very light sand colour, blended with white if it's not light enough; after painting, drybrush any features with white. I often add a mix of sand (real sand) and green flockin smal patches for contrast.

Also he added some small rocks to add detail and character to the bases.

I am switching to more earthy tones for my stuff now but when I did my desert bases I didn't add shadows or highlights for two reasons: 1) I used very fine sand which is more difficult to drybrush without making cloggy patches of highlight colour, and 2) I figured that at 6mm scale the only features which would actually produce natural shadows and highlights on desert sand would be larger rocks and similar.
