At 6k you are pushing the army list to its limit - They are really only tested for between 2750 & 5000 point armies.

My main concerns for the list would be low number of AA shots that you'll have. At that number of points I would expect a good number of enemy aircraft and you don't want to give them free range. And you will have the Overlords as your BTS (Break The Spirit) formation. These are constantly 'popped up' and so can be easily targeted and not 'fearless' so that if they are broken and further Blast Markers will cause points of damage. Otherwise suitably scary.

My problem is that I have been having trouble creating a 3000 point list I think would work. I always either overspend on heavys, or overspend on my infantry.

Have a look at some of the playtests that have been carried out these have the lists that have been played and go from there.

Can't comment on the squats as I've never played them, but yes 6k is a BIG game of EA. If I were you I'd aim for 1 - 1.5k, get a few games in and build up from there as you get a feel for the army. Makes painting I a less daunting task too!

I am also new to net epic and squats. My 1500 point starting army is based around a berserker brotherhood mounted in termites along with a max bike and trike detachment. My only WE is a land train with a bomb car. My only opponent at this point is running Chaos Emperors Children. Thoughts/comments?

2750???

Why that number, I thought it was between 2000 and 5000. At least that's how I playtest (and play :P )
