Skimmers, run them in front of the troops to prevent cc troops getting into base contact with your infantry, if engaged put the transports up front (if they have better saves than the troops) to minimise casualties, use their 10cm countercharge to btb strong firefight troops like wraithguard and fire dragons to cut down their shooting depending on your opponent, it can be a good idea to start the troops mounted to give them a big engage move against fast opponents, that way you can single a long way and shoot more effectively |

Move mounted under cover as long as possible ... dismount in a covered and/or concealed postition ... use vehicles in cover to support the dismounted infantry by fire ... Only use transports for cover as a last resort. [Only an amateur would do otherwise] ... You dismount to soon, you lose mobility ... too late you could lose both the transports and infantry at the same time ... |

In addition to Hena's point about mobility, don't be afraid to leave a few foot units behind and take the blast markers if it means you stay mobile |

Tactics also depend to some extent on the army:-
That said, staying embarked helps with both initiating and reacting to assaults. Eldar Guardians in their transports provides one of the best assaults and does so at a distance, while Orks in their transports can counter-attack and disembark into B-B giving them one of the better responses to an assault. |

Hi! I thought in Epic it is way too dangerous to stay inside the transport, so I always double (what is no problem because I am playing orcs and they double all the time) and disembark after the movement. But it seems this is the wrong way - so when the formation moves somwhere, where is no cover for the troops, it is better to stay inside? And when I deploy my formations: When I deploy them in an area, where is also no cover, should the Troops be inside? Because I play often against IG, and they often have barrage weapons, so that they can shoot at the transport with Troops inside, whereever they are and kill them all only by destroying the transport-vehicle. |

I say again ... Move mounted under cover as long as possible ... dismount in a covered and/or concealed postition ... use vehicles in cover to support the dismounted infantry by fire ... Only use transports for cover as a last resort. [Only an amateur would do otherwise] ...
