I'm currently building a retro-ish styled ork army to replace my precious SM2-era one given to a kid down the street in a moment of madness back in the 90's....

I picked up the E40K boxed set a while ago and after nabbing the miniatures, sold the rest on

I've currently got the following as the basis of an army:

18 stands of orks
6 stands of nobs
9 stands of grots
3 stands of kommandos
3 stands of stormboyz
5 stands of big gunz (2 stands with the orks holding huge guns, 3 shokk attack guns)
3 stompas
3 bases of bikers
18 gunwagons

I also picked up the following recently

~20 hop-splat guns
2 bubble chukka speedsters (or soopaguns)
3 mekboy speedstas
half a mekboy gargant...

Now apart from 'more boyz' what do I need (bare minimum) to get to an acceptable and competetive tournament build? I've got a bid on 6 fightas on ebay at the moment, I'm also assuming that a landa (or two) would be a good bet, as well as some flakkwagons

looking to do this on the cheap so no talk of that essential-but-now-OOP-forgeworld-ork-insta-win-trukk-which-will-cost-a-small-fortune please!

not averse to scratchbuilding, but I'd prefer to modify something existing with extra bits

I'd suggest Skorchas, more bikes & buggies. Finish off the Mech Gargant and play it as a Supa Stompa, a couple of KillaKans.

Oh and more skorchas.

Remind me closer to a tournament & I'll probably be able to find some spare bikes for you. (I've run out of spare skorchas - before any suggests that I have a huge stockpile of them.)
