Hello everyone ! Interested in beginning an epic army, I recently bought a few boxes of Eldars. I am in the process of assembling and painting them ; and I would like to know if I can build a force that have a little chance of winning with what I have. There are a lot of different rules around it seems, and it's a bit confusing - and I haven't found the eldar army list yet :[ Also, and that's the most important question, I would like to know if I have to put certain figurines on stands, ie if I have to put a warlock in a stand of wraithguard for example. I currently have two eldar warhost boxes (so that's 28 stands of guardians, 4 stands of warlocks, 4 stands of howling banshees, striking scorpions, swooping hawks, wraithguard, dark reapers and warp spiders each, 8 stands of rangers and 8 stands of jetbikes (but I'll try to do more of them with less jetbikes per stand ! ) ) 3 falcons and 6 vypers. Thank you for any help you can give me :] Ancre. |

In a normal Eldar army Warlocks go in one of the Guardian stands, the Exachs in 1/4 Aspect stands. |

I'm a novice myself, but I recommend that for starters you grab at least four wave serpents to transport one of your hosts, and enough falcons to field a full troupe (consider throwing some firestorms in there). I'd also recommend a scorpion for your first war engine, as they can tackle a pretty diverse set of circumstances. I also recommend that you base wraithguard and rangers three to a stand as well, as that would give you enough wraithguard for two upgrades should you ever want that many. Personally I'm not too picky on having five to a stand. If you're not worried about it either, you can really get a lot of mileage out of your aspects and such if you spread them out. |

first off, I'd say that Warp Spiders are absolutely terrible and that you need to trade them with me at once (just joking!)other than that, peruse the Eldar tactics thread and see what you think - there are many many different ways of playing Eldar, so you'll easily be able to find a style that suits you and the models you have. Ginger's also a great person to ask about Eldar tactics and he's written several long posts outlining the pros and cons of different play styles. |
