There are a few more photos on my BLOG.

So after the first day, the campaign map looks like this:

Brett managed to pick up the Spaceport hex for this week giving himself a bonus point and a handy lead. This campaign definitely rewards participation!
It looks like we’ll get a few more players next week as the games progress to 2500pts.

Wow, awesome pictures!

Would you mind postimg the rules you're using involving the mighty empires tilrs? We're trying to come up with a good campaign system for epic.

A great shot of sunrise/sunset over the ruined city.

It will be good if you get a few more players involved, but that's to take nothing away from the start of the campaign. There are some impressive armies on show here, and it's always pleasing to see such a variety of Chaos forces.

Cheers guys :)
The rules we are using are fairly generic as we have quite a wide range of armies and it would be hard to come up with a themed campaign. The rules are in the players pack on my blog (link below).

Week 2
Week 2 and we had 5 players play 3 more games.

Brett* - Emperor's Children
Jason - Thousand Sons
Steve - Iron Warriors
Simon - Scions of Iron (Space Marines)
Hutch* - Death Guard

* New Epic Armageddon player

Brett v Jason - 4:0 win to Jason (Blitz, Take & Hold, They Shall Not Pass, Break Their Spirit)
Hutch v Simon - 2:1 win to Hutch (Blitz, Take & Hold to Blitz)
Brett v Steve - 2:1 win to Steve (Blitz, Take & Hold to Blitz)

So after today's games the campaign map looks like this:

Brett has a handy lead after playing 5 games already.

Hutch managed to pick up the space port for this week giving him a bonus point. His game with Simon had some incredible (weird) dice rolls which made the game very interesting - a great way to start his Epic Armageddon gaming.

Jason was able to avenge his loss to Brett last week.

The campaign has had a slow beginning compared to previous years but I'm hopeful that it will pick up in the final 2 weeks as we head for the one day tournament (There is Only War - 2013).

Hey what sizes are those battle boards as they look awesome :) :)

Post subject:  Re: War Without End 2013 - Epic Armageddon campaign - Week 3

All the boards are 6' x 4' as recommended in the rules.

Week 3

Week 3 saw 7 players play 5 games.

Brett* - Emperor's Children
Jason - Thousand Sons
Steve - Iron Warriors
Simon - Scions of Iron (Space Marines)
Joel* - Orks
Matt - Tau
Rick* - Space Marines

* New Epic Armageddon player

Matt v Jason - 2:1 win to Matt (Break Their Spirit, Take & Hold to Break Their Spirit)
Joel v Steve - 3:0 win to Joel (Blitz, Take & hold, Break Their Spirit)
Brett v Simon 2:0 win to Simon (Blitz, Take & Hold)
Matt v Brett - 1:0 win to Matt (Break Their Spirit)
Rick v Simon - 2:0 win to Simon (Break Their Spirit, Defend The Flag)

Orks march down Highway One!

More photos HERE.

So week 3 saw things heat up a bit as more players join in.
- Joel loved his Ork air power and the titan killing power of Odd Boyz in Gunwagonz! He became only the 2nd player to destroy the Ordinatus Chaotica in my games so far.
- In both games, Matt took an early beating and managed to claw back for wins.
- It’s GREAT to see Brett’s Emperor’s Children being painted. They are going to be a fantastic looking army (with special mention of the excellent bases).
- Simon’s dice were up and down during the day (as usual for Simon) but he managed to come away with 2 wins from 2 games.
- Rick tried to break open a Space Marine castle set up, and found out it’s harder than it looks!

So with 1 week to go, the campaign map looks like this:
Image

So Brett has a commanding lead right now.
Shall we play games to capture opponents territories on the final week?
Any campaign players are welcome to have their say on whether we should just continue as before or try and win some extra territories.
Should we include the optional Victory Goal rules outlined in the players pack (each player is given a Victory Goal in secret which is worth 2pts instead of the usual 1pt) ?

Cheers,
Steve.

June 23th - Week 4

Week 4 saw 5 players play 3 more games to finish the campaign.

Brett* - Emperor's Children
Jason - Thousand Sons
Steve - Iron Warriors
Spiv* - Tyranids (EpicUK list)
Nick - Steel Legion Imperial Guard

* New Epic Armageddon player

Spiv v Nick - 1:1 draw (They Shall Not Pass to Break Their Spirit)
Steve v Jason - 1:0 to Steve (Break Their Spirit) Victory Point win to Jason
Jason v Brett - 3:1 win to Jason (They Shall Not Pass, Defend The Flag, Take & Hold to Break Their Spirit)

In the final week, we decided to let the winner of each game capture a territory of their choice from the loser. We did this to make the end interesting.
Steve Managed to score the Spaceport for this week in the game with Jason. Jason won the game and of course, he chose the Spaceport hex to capture!
This jumped him into 2nd place.

Nick and Spiv played out a 1 all draw. It was a meat grinder with both armies taking bulk casualties. They both learnt a lot in preparation for next weeks tournament.

This meant the campaign came down to the game between Brett and Jason. Winner takes all!
Jason's horde of Silver Towers and Greater Spires won the game and catapulted him to the top of the points table.
WELL DONE JASON!

Onto the photos from this week:

Jason has finally won an Epic Armageddon event!
He has been the runner-up so many times before that he thoroughly deserves the win.
Commiserations to Brett who has supported the campaign the most (MANY thanks Brett).

More photos HERE.

So the War Without End 2013 campaign draws to a close.

We had a total of 12 players play 15 games over 4 weeks.
6 of the players were new to the game (or returning to Epic after playing previous version many years ago).
Of those 6 players, 4 already have armies.

The break down of Victory Goals achieved:
Take & Hold - 11
Break Their Spirit - 10
Blitz - 10
Defend The Flag - 4
They Shall Not Pass - 4

A Big thanks to the TGA guys! You are the best and I REALLY appreciate all support.
To Brett, Hutch, Jason, Joel, Keith, Matt, Nick, Rick, Scott, Simon & Spiv - a BIG THUMBS UP from me and thanks for taking part!

War Without End will return in 2014.

Cheers,
Steve.

Congrats Jason!

And thanks for running another fantastic Epic campaign Steve. It's become a fixture of the gaming year locally, and you've done an amazing job at evangelising and getting new players involved in the game.

Hre are links to a couple of Battle |Reports from the campaign for anyone who's interested.
