Word up British Homeboys!

Looks like I might be buying a ticket for an up and coming 3k Tournament soon and I'd like to take my now (mostly) painted Krieg force...However, having never played with them yet I'm still left theoryhammering! What do people, experienced or inexperienced, think of the below build:

Infantry Company
-Gorgons
-Heavy Tank 550pts

-Infantry Company
-Gorgons 450pts

-Regimental HQ 400pts

-Trenches 100pts

-Grenadiers Platoon
-Centaurs 275pts

-Grenadiers Platoon
-Centaurs 275pts

-Flak Battery 150pts

-Medusa Battery 150pts

-Support Battery 150pts

-Shadowsword 200pts

-Thunderbolts 150pts

-Thunderbolts 150pts

It feels like a bit of a one trick pony: Gorgon mounted troops roll forwards supported by the Grenadiers and that's only 4 formations making a push. Reg HQ sits in Trenches with flak, medusa and support battery hopefully mid table defending objectives. Shadowsword rolls forwards hopefully protected by the advance of the gorgon loads. T.bolts provide air cover or strafe at will.

I'd include warhounds but I doubt they'll be painted in time...I added the heavy tank to make sure I only have 1 BTS...

I guess the list could be a lot more assaulty but I'm worried about the defence side of things.

I haven't got any more Gorgons available!

Most other things though!

I think the krieg list epitomises the 'attack is the best form of defence' saying really.....

Forget about the trenches etc and just burn forwards? Howsabout?

-Regimental HQ
+Gorgons 550pts

-Infantry Company
+Gorgons 450pts

-Death Rider Company 325pts

-Grenadier Platoon
+Centaurs 275pts

-Grenadier Platoon
+Centaurs 275pts

-Shadowsword 200pts

-Shadowsword 200pts

-Warhound 275pts

-T.Bolts 150pts

-T.Bolts 150pts

-T.Bolts 150pts

Tough trying to fit another warhound in unless I want to be 25pts down...3 sets of Thunderbolts could be nasty enough though :-)

Personally I'd be tempted to swap out the shadowswords for stormswords and go all-out assault, as it is, they're very useful againt war engines and titans, but may well end up isolated... I'm no expert by any means though, dptdexys has an awesome krieg force, try asking him, or E&C.....

A list I've played a few games with and similar to your second force (minus the Grenadiers) is,

REGIMENTAL HQ 550 (2 Gorgons)
INFANTRY COMPANY 450 (2 Gorgons)
INFANTRY COMPANY 450 (2 Gorgons)
SUPPORT BATTERY 150
SHADOWSWORD 200
SHADOWSWORD 200
AA BATTERY 150
WARHOUND TITAN 275
WARHOUND TITAN 275
THUNDERBOLT FIGHTERS 150
THUNDERBOLT FIGHTERS 150

The main down side is the lack of scouts and garrison formations but it works quite well when trundling forward with mutual support in assaults etc.

I'm seriously considering starting an EW Kreig army myself. Now my list uses the NetEA version but can be easily crossed over to EUK with the loss of only one Death Rider formation:

RHQ (Gorgons) - 550
Infantry Company (Gorgons) - 450
Infantry Company (Gorgons) - 450
Infantry Company (Gorgons) - 450
Superheavy Tank Platoon (Stormsword) - 200
Superheavy Tank Platoon (Stormsword) - 200
Superheavy Tank Platoon (Stormsword) - 200
Death Rider Platoon - 175
Thunderbolts - 150
Thunderbolts - 150

2975pt/10 activations

You could easily change one of the Stormswords out for a Shadowsword - something I may well do myself.

alas, currently lacking in stormswords; they do look a pretty nifty choice though!

DPT: what does yr aa battery end up doing?

here's one!

infantry plus gorgons
infantry plus gorgons
infantry
grenadiers in centaurs
grenadiers in centaurs
roughrider scouts
roughrider scouts
shadowsword
shadowsword
warhound
warhound

zero aa, two bts, no SC re-roll but 11 activations with some fairly speedy units. warhounds use their high initiative to start assaults on a retain, infantry company starts on OW mid table & then rolls up once the shadowswords have advanced to take objectives.

Not usually much, it's there to stop or hinder an early air assault or bombing run and then follow the main force and hopefully pick off remnants.
I may try them or the support battery with gun emplacements instead of tractors for a garrison formation.
