I'll be bringing my boy to maelstrom for a few hours on the 17th to watch a few games and generally feel 'part of' it all..... although my wife might have to work on her birthday, in which case, the kid will be palmed off on his grandma for the weekend and I might actually be able to come.....

Travelodge isn't stella, but its 5 min car journey and has a Tesco Express next door or a MacD's across the road for breakfast. The other walkable option is the Pine Lodge Hotel. Bit more expensive but comes with breakfast included.

I'm booked in there so currently 2 seats in the car left for Sunday morning trip to Maelstrom

For next year they've just started building an industrial estate which is including a hotel 3mins walk from maelstrom

Just got myself a GT ticket, and I'm booked into the Pine Lodge - was very passable earlier in the year when I was up for BotC.

I'm staying at Pine Lodge as well - Breakfast Buddies

Can't make this year, guilt tripped by the missus about not being around on her birthday...... Not worth the arguments!!

Much to my embarrassment I’m having to pull out of the GT.

You would have thought that after all these years I’d have remembered when my son’s birthday is. However give him a few more years and he will be off at uni not wanting to be disturbed by his parents.

So there is a room going free at the Pine Lodge now too.

Where is this Pine Lodge place? If I'm not driving up with Buddies I need a place to stay! Otherwise I'll cycle in from NOttingham it seems!
