The army list restrictions are a tricky balancing act, any questions or help needed just e-mail me on the address found in the rulespack!

Make a 2000 point list, abiding by all usual restrictions.

Make a 750 point list to add to it, abiding by all usual restrictions. The combined total must also abide by all restrictions.

Make a 1000 point list to add to it, abiding by all usual restrictions. The combined list must also abide by all restrictions.

Combine all three into a 3750 point list, which must abide by all usual restrictions.

The restrictions are fine unless you want to take an expensive titan. Then you have to mix it into one of your 1000 or 750pt support armies. This then restricts what else you can play with and unbalances your army for two games. It's a risk that some will take and others will not.

I'll leave you with this example, say I want to take an Eldar Warlock titan, the only way I can fit it in is to take it in the 1000pt slot. As it is 850pts this will leave me with 150pts to play with not a lot of choice left if I'm playing Ulthwe.

Indeed. If I have read the restrictions correctly, the main army and the reserves must each follow the usual army restrictions, so any points left over from the titan must be spent on the 'main' formation type (basically Guardians for Eldar).

Consequently this also impacts several other races where there is the same kind of list restriction; IG, BL and possibly LaTD as well

Close but not quite.

The Reserve 750 and 1000pts forces must be legal when combined with the 2000pts Battle Force, so your 'main/core' formations may be included in the Battle Force to allow additional Support formations in Reserve forces from them.

The main change from previous years is that the 2k must be legal in its own too, which makes lists more difficult as, for example, 2 warhounds+tbolts can't fit in the 2k now

Oooh, two dominatrix. Was playing with list ideas around that, couldn't settle on a list I thought would work at 3000pt. Also interested to see how a Nest will work. Wouldn't mind playing a game against this list.

Jeridan, I understand about combining the 750 and 1000 reserve forces with the main force. However the point that Tim and Steve make is that the 2000 point 'main' force has to be legal on its own and is therefore constrained to 667 points of titans etc. This restricts the use of the larger titans (850 points) to the 'second reserve' formation. However, the army list constraints for a number of races means that doing this is likely to waste the surplus 150 points.

A better way of doing this IMO would be to allow the 2000 point 'main' force to include up to 917 points of titans etc. because it is always combined with one of the reserves, as this follows the same logic applied to the 'reserve' force allocations.

I don't mind that Ginger, we had the same sort of restraint last year and you just have to be careful in the 2750pt game as your BTS changes.
