We've been tallking to the organisers of the Uk Games Expo - a convention style event covering RPGs, Wargames, Card, boardgames, computer games etc, about running an Epic tournament at Expo 2013.

The proposed event would be at the NEC Hilton Metropole near Birmingham on May 25th-26th with 5 4k games (3 on Saturday 2 on Sunday)

Prices would be around
£30 ticket only (including entry to the Expo)
£65 ticket+parking+1 night (in a twin room) at the Hotel with breakfast

Would this event be of interest or would a 1 dayer (approx £20) be preferred?

I'd definitely be interested in attending, I'll have a better idea of whether 2 solid days of epic is actually something I would PAY to do after botch

Well, for me i'd be happy with a 2 day event - if just because to do 3 4k games in 1 day you'll be looking at an early start and a fairly late finish, and 4-5 hours driving on top of that would be fairly brutal!

Another 4k event on the scene next year either way would be great though

If a 1 dayer were preferred I think we'd try and work a schedule of 2 x 3k and 1 x 4k games or vice versa

Birmingham tournament sounds fantastic . Either a 1 day or 2 day event, as long as there's more tournaments down south then it's all good.

One more thing to add, this would clash with the WPS CC, who did say they would be looking at bringing Eipc back next year.

Aah, that would put a bit of a spanner in the works, as Clapham were considering sending a team down for this, which would mean i'd likely be there - although if it's a case of no epic at the CC or an event at Birmingham, i know which i'd prefer

as long as there is a tournament happening, I'm not fussed where.... unless clubless 'mercenaries' like me aren't permitted at the club challenge, in which case I throw all my support behind the Birmingham event!

We have confirmed with Expo - it will be a 2 day tournament with 4 4k games, tickets will be on sale through the Expo website from September. Accomadation at an extra discount will be available through Epic UK

Total price for tournament ticket, Expo ticket, 1 nights accomadation at the venue (Hilton), breakfast and parking should be £60-£65
