First of all full details can be found here:
BotCh-Epic

And more details here:
Flame On BotCh Forum

Now the bad news, it's already sold out...

...wait, wait. There is a very good chance we may be able to 'acquire' some more tables, and to be in with a chance you need to get your name on the Reserve List by going here:
Reserve Entry Form

This annual Flame On tournament encompasses Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy and now Epic and Bloodbowl. So to be the first to grab free tables it helps to have a longer Reserve List than the other games.

Also, any questions about the rulespack or any other enquiries let me know here, or on the Flame On forum.

Good news, we've managed to acquire some more tables.

At time of posting this we have 3 spaces available, if you want to join us click the Entry Form link in the post above.

Cool, that's the same weekend as NEAT III.

Apparently there are only two tickets left.

If anyone else wants to come best be quick before the 40k scummers steal the last table!

So, is this at all newbie friendly?

Just got back into this after playing Epic40k when it first came out and, lining in Nottingham, it's kinda convenient. Haven't really had many games though, and probably won't before June 26th.

I'm sure Steve54 will be along, but there is an active epic community that go to warhammer world every Thursday if you fancy some practice.

But having said that there shouldn't be an issue with you playing at the tournament, everyone has to learn somewhere!

Well you're unlikely to win the tournament. In fact there's a good chance you'll come last. With that out of the way All epic tournaments are newbie friendly!

A friend of mine did the Epic tournament in London a while back having only played E40k before and just a few games of EA
Another friend is attending Open War next Saturday: He's only played a few games of EA and still has half his army to paint!

Get in touch with Steve54 and have a few practice games with him and the others from the 1st Company Veterans. I promise you, you will be in good hands. These guys are the very top players in the country. Possibly in the World!

It's a tournament with a twist having differing point values and scenarios so you won't be at as much of a disadvantage as a standard tournament.

Hope to see you there.

I'm under no illusions as to my chances, I was actually concerned I wasn't going to cause any frustration with my inexperience and being an easy match for whoever gets me.

I do intend to meet up with whoever on Thursday(s) but, annoyingly, Thursday is the one day I don't really have free in the week.

I really don't think that will be an issue with anybody - if you are free this Saturday come and say hello at WHW as there is an epic tourney on there

As I said, there's a chap coming to Open War at WHW this Saturday who is very green indeed. From my experience, those who are more experienced are very patient and helpful with newbies (and they're not that uncommon, you've gotta start somewhere).

Though a newbie is likely to get mercilessly trounced he will also receive a huge amount of encouragement and tips with the hope that they aren't scared off and come back to do better at future tournaments. I won't mention any names but I've witnessed newbies start at the bottom and work their way virtually to the top in the space of a year!

I don't think my newbie friend will have any, or cause any problems :)
As Steve says, drop by on Saturday and see some Epic loving in action!
