So at the end of the tournament season last year I put up a few stats and figures concerning the season which a few people found interesting. I'll do the same again for this year here. Attendees We had a total of 40 different people attending at least one tournament this year, 12 of whom where new to the tournament scene. 13 players who attended last year didn't attend this year (though a number of those where just 'stand in' players. Last year we had 39 total players with 16 new, and 34 players the year before. Most popular armies since 2007 These are most popular army lists ranked according to the number of times they where taken to tournament from 2007 to present. 81 Codex Marines 70 Steel Legion 57 Biel Tann 48 Ghazgkhull War horde 47 Black Legion 09 Lost & Damned 05 White Scars 04 Tyranids 04 Siege Masters 03 Dark Angels 02 Blood Angels 01 Feral Orks 01 Speed Freaks 01 Black Templars Average Placings This is based on my system of giving a tournament winner 1 point, last place 0 points and everyone else a fraction in between according to the position they attend in the tournament. Their season score being the average over the number of tournaments that player attended, and the whole lot sorted giving the overall ranking. Official placings are used so that means that soft scores such as painting and sports are a factor. Without further ado, here's the list Dave Thomas Nathan Hoole Matt Otter Steve Gullick Joe Jephson Mark Hargrave Mark Williams Richard Laking Mark Preston Daniel Hazlitt Matt Arnold Andy Gerrard Tim Hunt Mark Roberts Andy Harris David Bartley Darren Reeks Kevin Bott Ben Skinner Clive Kershaw Alan Saunders Darren Allen Simon Jenkins Ryan Downes Steve Plenderleith Nick Rice Gavin McKenzie Chris Web Chris Steel Paul Sutton Glyn Green Marcus Hawkesford Wayne Bridge Chun-Yiu Lee Russel Burton Damian Bradley Ole Larson Greg Flyn Samuel Roberts Tom Webb Enjoy! |

Solidly mid-table... I think I prefer this average score thing. ![]() Do you have stats for the most popular armies this year, not just from 2007? |

Quote: (Rug @ Dec. 07 2009, 13:54 ) Thats not just 2007, it's 2007 to present. I meant "from" 2007 to present. I just wanted to compare the long term trend to this year's trends. |

The player placings are for this year alone, but the army lists are over the past 3 years. Afraid I don't have the army stats for this year alone, they could be harvested from Dave's database I 'spose. |

My database only has 2008/2009 data in it but I can try and get any queries people may be interested in. I won't commit to any timescales for data request though! |
