My challenge to self for the rest of the tourney year is to play with the two races I don't have all that much experience in playing with yet (silly me!). Last night i drew up a couple of 3k lists I'd like to use and wanted to pick people's brains about them. The first is a 'sensible' ork list whilst the second is my interpretation of an idea i heard off of TRC...

Make it 7 skorcha and one buggy to 'stretch' your shooting.

Fortress warband
Step 1, add oddboy!
Step 2 - consider combining the two into one formation to take advantage of the WE damage rules.
Step 2.1 - lament your fragile BTS

Blitz
Consider combining into big blitz with 2 supa guns

Zap Gunz
Consider getting a second one so you can overwatch both as garrissons

Stormboyz
Replace with bikers. Or even better 7 more skorcha/1 buggy!

Fighta bombers
Generate more points using magic to have one large, 1 small. Alternatively combine into large bomberz and demonstrate that the 'bomber will always get through' wasn't wrong after all!

I don't have the models otherwise! That and I'm more concerned about viability too; bit of a one trick pony I'm guessing? All my stuff is Khornate too so relying on demons with no FF value seems a bad idea!

Play corners and you seriously increase your chance of landing nearby something! Of course when you match up against the all skimmer Eldar you are in a bit of bother!

It's a Big Warband for 350, not Uge.

You might have issues if you run into an army list that's heavy TK, as the Forts and Supastompa aren't going to soak up much TK before being out of commission.

I'd suggest adding a Deth Kopta or 2 to your Stormboyz so the formation can lay BMs.  Unless you do some re-organizing, that will require dropping 2 Stormboyz and adding 1 Deth Kopta, dropping 15 points.

Outside of that, it looks pretty solid to me.

Don't listen to TRC about Fortress Oddboyz.  They are only allowed on Gunfortresses, not Battlefortresses.

Yes, those were my thoughts too! Will certainly add a dethkopta and drop a stormboy though another KoS is a better buy i think...though stormboyz do have scout which is something i lack.
Knew about the Fortresses.
WIll add a BUggy to the skorcha
Tempting to Combine the two fortresses but agree about the fragility of it...really i took them for cheaper mobility...though i do have the models for battleWAGONS the initial thought was that the forts might prove tempting targets for TK's, thus drawing fire from the BTS>

But a "Battlefortress" and a "Gunfortress" are two different things... just like the difference between Battlewagonz and Gunwagonz!
