Turns out there's a new gaming convention starting in Hamilton, called "Hammercon", and running October 17, 2009.

Well, I *AM* running an EPIC tournament at the con now... even if only one other person shows up!  *laugh*

This year is out of the question, but I would certainly make the trip down in future for an Epic event. Depending on the response you get, Chroma, I could also see if the organizers of Game Summit here in Ottawa would be interested in adding an Epic tournament, too.

If I could get someone to travel with to reduce the cost, I might be interested. I should probably get a passport, just in case. The last time I crossed an international border my birth certificate (or was it my driver's license?) was sufficient.

Interest and feasibility are two different things.  Trying to push this idea past my wife will not fly even a little bit.  I want to go, but I need my testicles.

And DS looks nothing like a terrorist, so it is almost a guarantee he'll be held up at the border.  Can't have any of that profiling now, can we? :tongue:

Nah, I have reached my quota of overnight Epic tournaments this year.  The rest will have to be local for me.  And my boyz are not just for making kids but to keep from growing man-breasts (did you NOT watch Fight Club?).

However, I do think that the NEAT group should send a detachment to HEAT and battle it out team-to-team.  This is an idea I've been toying with for a couple of weeks and -if you're open to a non-tournament style activity- it may be a good way to get a lot of people up without the rigidity of a tourney format.

Now that would've been an awesome tit-for-tat!  (I'm going to play EPIC in Australia in November... oh yeah, and vacation with my wife.)
