Yes, you read that correctly. ?A Direct Sales Manager from GW-US called me and wanted to discuss the Epic Tournament at Baltimore and more.  There were quite a few topics covered and some I can't really go into, but here are the highlights...

1. Games Day Baltimore. Direct Sales is going to set up a display case near our table in the hopes that showing off some new miniatures and seeing people play Epic right there will get some more Sales (here I go enabling again... :D ).

2. They will be posting information at the GW stores in the area about the Epic tournament to help generate some interest.

3. Direct Sales will be mentioning the tournament to people who place orders that have the potential to come to the tourney.

4. There is a new push within GW-US to bring the hobbyists back into the fold and work with gaming clubs directly. ?More information to follow.

5. Most importantly, he explained he would like to extend this support to other tournaments and Epic Gaming Clubs. ?

There were some other things discussed (nothing bad) but this is the bulk of it. ?So it appears that the squeaky wheel does indeed get the greese. ? A very cool call. ?Unexpected, but cool.

I was wondering that myself, Ragnarok.  In the blur of conversation I forgot to ask, but I emailed him asking that very thing.  It's all very Inquisitorial, but friendly! :p

I also plugged the Northeast Tournament as well.  I don't know if they can do anything about it but you never know.

Thanks Mosc.

I was going to ask you when I read:

5. Most importantly, he explained he would like to extend this support to other tournaments and Epic Gaming Clubs.

I'd be curious what they think of it?  I can send them our flyer if they like?

Well done indeed Mosc. If you are not carefull, you will end up a "goodwill ambasador" for E:A :D

Now if we could get something similar to happen when we are at GW in Nottingham doing one of our Epic tournaments, or even better, in the premier shows in London (SELWG or Salute) . . . . . ?:)

I already sent the flyer along.  I'll just wait and see if they can assist.  I expect an email from him by the latest Tuesday.  He seemed utterly shocked when I told him we made our own supplement.

My local GW wants to hold an Epic tournament... not quite national coverage, but it's a start. :D

There's rumours of some kind of Epic tourney going on at the Oakville, Ontario Bunker as well... I must investigate...

Thanks, Mosc. I don't expect anything from them, but if they do it would be wicked cool.

I must admit I'm very surprised, make that stunned, he called you. I hate to read too much into this, but there might be hope still for us Epic fanatics.
