The results of the UK Epic Championship so far after Five competitions is as follows. Note, the races refer to the number of people who have used an army at least once, and the number of times that army has been fielded in total.

The results of the latest UK competition (Note I only count the game scores, listed against each player)

While watching the recent F1 championships, it occurred to me that it could be interesting to record the results of the various UK tournaments and competitions in a kind of unofficial ?UK championship? using a similar scoring system. This is purely experimental in nature, so there will be no prizes as such.

I propose to track the results of both the players and the races, and to encourage diversity in the army lists used, there will be a small bonus for army lists from different races in the various competitions.

The scoring will be as follows:-
    1st place ? 10 points
    2nd place ? 7 points
    3rd place ? 5 points
    4th place ? 3 points
    5th place ? 2 points
    6th place ? 1 point

With 4 points for each different race used
Using this scoring system I have scored the first UK competition.

What do you think guys?

Must be broken then.

Are you going to put up a list of tournaments that you will be counting?

Double points for any tournament that Dave T doesn't play in?

Gents, happy to work on a database to store info in if people want to collect and collate more data.

I do like gavins simple approach as it means we can count the two open wars and the GW GT that have different scoring methods to the other tournamnets.

To keep you on your toes, I was going to add tournaments in a completely arbitrary fashion - - - ?:p And I am definitely going to penalise any Chaos army, especially those of Dave T and Steve G :D ?:p ?

- - - - Well actually I was thinking of any tournament run by Matt Otter, plus my two competitions in London and the Open war comps - in fact, just about all of them. Here is the list presented by Matt earlier this year:-

23rd February ? - ? ? Full Scale Assault 08 ?
5th April ? ? ? ? ? ?- ? ? Open War
24th/27th April ?- ? ? Possible Butlins / Skegness?
24th/25th May ?- ? ? WPS Club Challenge ?
June 28/29 ? ? ? ?- ? ? London Tournament
Summer time ? ? - ? ? GW EPIC GT ?
15-17 August  ? - ? ? Britcon ? ? ?
Early Sept? ? ? ? - ? ? Open War
27-28 Sept       -     GW Grand Tournament
18 October        -     Open War
Late October     - ? ? Dragon Slayer EPIC GT ? ?

Now I cannot say that all these events will take place or that I know the dates of those later in the year; for example, I have heard nothing further about the Butlins bash. But now we have a board dedicated to such events - well there is no excuse for not publishing them is there :)

(Steve G data included)

If people are prepared to send in their army lists to you, possibly with a quick note of the best and worst formations in each game, over time this could also prove interesting - but an awfull lot of work. Before we get to that point, it would be sensible to take a stab at the minimum data you can work with and post it up here. Eg, if Matt and the other organisers could send you the tournament results that might be a start.

However, on a slightly more serious note, I do hope you will also recognise "extreme" dice rolling somewhere to help weed out rogue results like those suffered by Kevin Bottley, Bill and I. ?:p

One of my goals is to present a feedback sheet to every tournament attendee, so that I can get some feedback into what force they played, and their general comments on the rules in play.
