From what I can gather this, largely, stems from a heated row last year when a game was dq'ed for not stopping when told.

Scott is refereeing OW this year and he isn't happy with the changes either.

I spoke to Mephiston earlier and I'd suggest the same thing to you Matt - email them or post on their forum.

Will do,

However there is one important point I forgot to make. As a tournament organiser it is important to finish when finish is called. I know I give alot of slack at my tournaments and don't really enforce this issue however if UK EPIC players don't do as required we could have this problem again; doesn't forgive the stance Open War has take though.

From what I've heard  they were told to stop - decided to finish turn, told to stop again - stopped and were rolling dice to determine rallying etc for vps when ref came round again and saw them rolling dice so dq'ed them both. They tried to explain and words were excanged.

Its a pain, but I think that I will still go to Open War, we must work form the inside to change things back. As we have previously stated, if we are left alone then we will manage ourselves.

With a price increase, points drop and artificial time limit I won't be attending.

If I can think of a civil way of explaning my displeasure at this decision I will post to their forum.

Matt, would it be worth our while booking the Gas Club on that day instead?

Tim,

I can't run another tournament :)

Seriously not this year as it's March / April; coursework and exam time for me so I haven't got the time to organise one.

The year after ... ummm I have a few plans

He has two Avatars. :D

However, I'm not sure the organizers could tell the difference.

Ya'll should just take 3kpts each... they'll never know lol.

Open War has now reverted back to the normal rules.

I would like to thank Scott and the commitee for there maturity and professionalism in sorting this issue.

I look forward to attending this tournament!

Just to confirm Open War will be 3,000pts and no 30 minute time limit. It's always a fantastic event and there is no reason why this one shouldn't be any different. It's held at Warhammer World Nottingham; All information can be found here: http://www.1stcompanyveterans.net/events/open_war_9.php

Looking forward to seeing some of you at these events!
