Great, I'm on holiday for a couple of weeks so might not be able to update results until I get back. Please post everything on this thread though.

My other big thought for going into September is that, as the league is pretty closely balanced, it might be good if players attempted to stick to the same races after the 3 game list change. Everyone can still obviously change their list but in balance terms the match ups seem to be working pretty well. Obviously, I'm not going to enforce this as we agreed races can be changed back in June. More of a 'this would be nice' than a 'not allowed'.

I'm also thinking that in next year's league we'll look at seeding and, where players have previously played one army and could play another that they do so (ie I can't go Eldar, Gavin can't go Marines). Aims to give some balance and variation. Just a thought at the moment so happy to discuss.

Lastly, I haven't heard from Alex so I've taken him out of the league fixtures so no need to go chasing him for league games (though we do need to arrange some more intro games for him). I've also updated the results table.

Gavin and i had a super entertaining game last night!

First showdown against any Marines for my angry robots, many mistakes have been made on both sides, epic rolls including a pretty even number of 1s on both sides, a 3 round combat deciding the game right at the end of turn 3!

After the dust settled the Necrons stood victorious with a 2-0 in turn 3.

Go Team Evil!

Agreed it was a crazy game, with the Necrons opting for what was effectively a 3rd turn drop, which skilfully avoided the Marine turn #1 Spacecraft. The Marines stayed in their castle, managed to break the second Pylon to allow air assaults etc, but were forced away from their Blitz by Necron monoliths and C'tan. With their scout screen in tatters, the Marine BTS broke out of the castle to evade potential assaults, while the Warhounds advanced to take revenge on the C'tan which had obliterated the other Devastator formation. This left the Marine aircraft clear to assault the Monolith formation guarding the Necron tomb complex. Unfortunately the TBolt pilots decided to take tea at this point and worse, the dice decided to rebel, leaving two broken monoliths around after the assaults were concluded. These monoliths duly disgorged sufficient troops to contest the Necron objectives giving the Necrons 2-0 (Blitz and T&H)

You're probably right.
I'm looking at Eldar of course which I rarely play but own loads. OR it's just a bluff and you'll see a SEA of carnifexes on the table... walking about... doing nothing... somehow surviving and winning on VPs turn 4. LOL

To be honest, I would like you to make the best out of the odd update to see what really can be done with it to proof a point.
However, i also respect that everybody wants to win and have fun.

Knights would be really cool as well :)

At least they haven't taken away a formation as it happened to my beloved Krieg. It will be fine.

I am awaiting my rematch against Nick when he's back from holiday and then i'll prepare myself to field the Aonic Orb to its full destructive potential. Muahahaha

Totally. Those 2 extra gargoyles with the Harridans make them so Overpowered... :D

In all seriousness if they wanted to make the Tyranids less 'mono-build' they needed to give better shooting to the bigger bugs(carnifexes etc) this has been the case in 40k for about 10 years.
Sometimes nostalgia for old rules can go a bit far?
