EUK could certainly use some new terrain, plans are afoot....

Luxury! When I were young, we'd use yellow pages as hills an' pieces o'torn paper with "woods" scrawled on. Roads... we didn't have roads back in those days.

Try tell that to young'uns these days and they don't believe you.

The terrain was mainly purchased 4 years ago and is functional so we can transport 10 tables worth round the country. That said we've now accumulated enough funds, while keeping tournament prices to a minimum, to invest in a lot of terrain this summer.

Regarding the forests, firstly trees are really expensive, secondly it is a difficult balance between playability and appearance. Our forests don't look great currently, and will be upgraded, but they serve their purpose. I've seen and played on lovely terrain that was really unsuitable to actually game on.

Have you seen the forests with removeable lids? I think they look really great and also are very good to play on.

So you transport enough terrain to cover 10 tables (would that be a minimum of 120 pieces??!) around the country??! Wow, that is actually very impressive. I have personally terrain to cover 2 tables and that takes up a shitload of pace at home!

Trees are really not that expensive.

True, but then they need basing, and transporting to and from events, which is why the current trees are a bit worse for wear.

I also think you need to balance looks v playability. If you can't actually put the models where they need to be in terrain it's pretty useless at a tournament. Fine for home play but when you are timed pressured you don't want to spend ages either making space in terrain or trying to balance models so they won't fall over.

I bought trees like that, bedded them down onto pennies with green stuff, then added sand to the pennies. Pretty robust.

PS: If EUK wanted to do a big order of plastic buildings, we could offer a discount.

I did much the same but with plastic aquarium plants, they'll survive pretty well any kind of transport. Table for context:

Cheap palms actually bought for 28mm and 15mm gaming but they're not that out of scale for 6mm:

The pennies still need sand adding.

I did the tree-on-currency thing, it works really well. But I wouldn't be too keen on doing 150 ;) Well, unless I was charging for labour of course!

For the prize winners from this tournament -
Exodus Wars kindly sponsored the prizes, when they pulled out of Expo the week before they gave us Voucher codes for the Website. After gathering all the requested prizes I attempted to order them, unfortunately there is nowhere to enter codes on the website.
I PMed Netepic on August 12th. The Message has been received.
I emailed all the addresses on the Steel Crown website on August 19th
No response to the PM or emails. I will continue to follow it up.

We have new sponsors lined up for Expo next year
