Though they now have a machine that makes a killer hot chocolate .... I had four! ?

I tried one too but spilt it.... luckily there was a lot of paper laying around most ?of the tables which I used to clean it up.

Just kidding :D

Yes, I took pictures of all the armies setup during lunch and I can see at least 2 rosters for armies that received no points.

No biggy really, not having donuts before the start, now that is important :)

when will we be able to see the photos Dave.

Thanks Dave,

I was too hungry to worry about setting my stuff up neatly. I will have to bring a small army one day and my camera.

Tim

Also how did Flame on manage to win with no Epic players? Getting 0 in one system should block you winning to my mind?

I think the system works by taking the top 6 of a Gaming Team from across all game systems.

The 'value' of a position is weighted by the number of players in that game system.

I.e. coming 1st out of 100 is harder than coming 1st out of 10, so has more 'value' to the Team Award.

Being barred for not having players in other games systems would just encouraged 'tokenism', having a token Epic player, etc.

Just to add insult to injury, Flame On won the year before with no Epic or Fantasy players, ?:D

Anyway, I might be doing Epic at OW 9, can't promise anything this early, except that if I do I've had 1 game so far and so easy wins for all my opponents.

I'm sure theres plenty of people in your area who can get you plenty of practice games before OW9. :D

You'll need it since, apart from myself, the standard is very high!   :p

Hehe, that's what I was afraid off.

Anyone who's heard of Epic must be a long-time Gamer, as GW have tried their hardest to kill Specialist Games and all that have heard of them.

This way they can release 40k scale Epic...cough Apocalypse...

So anyone who's entering an Epic tournament, having hunted down Epic models and rules, is probably going to know their stuff.

Who knows, there could be others like me there, ?:D

I am trying to get other's in Flame On interested, should be running some starter games in a few weeks.

I got the team thing wrong by getting mixed up with the WPS CC, were you must have entered all systems to compete in the overall trophy. Meant I made a guy play fantasy after 4 games instead of 40K!

Still, we all enjoyed ourselves.

Weeeellllll I think that many Epic gamers are, like myself, old hands - perhaps partly for the reasons you mention.

But I'm not sure it makes that much difference though. EA is still fairly new, and is such a different and better game than it's previous editions.  I think most of what people learned during prior eds is not of any great use in EA, and most epic old hands have had to virtually start from scratch.

Not only that but you can't really rely on any 40k experience either (The Space Marines in EA are NOT guaranteed to win every game - almost the  opposite, they're quite difficult to play... for example)

Anyway, maybe you have 3 years of catch-up to do, but not 17!
