Actually, this year's NEAT will be much more free-form. You'll be allowed to look at your opponent's army, and then completely tailor your own to beat the snot out of it.

Freakin' eldar... but all you "special rules" armies will feel the pain, what with the overpowered IG's ability to field rough riders and to put commissars in almost any formation! Oh, the game-breaking possibilities are endless. Why bother playing the tournament? Mwahahahaha!

Don't forget fearless. I feel an all-commissar/all-fearless IG fan list coming on... It could happen: some hapless army decides to invade the commissar training world of Rediculoso 12 in the Goatblower cluster... Completely realistic, IMO.

The icing on the cake was that a Matt won the tournament! Congrats Matt A! Ditto on playing the NH crew again; it was a pleasure.

Also, kudos to Dave for setting it up and thanks to the store for being such a great host. I think all participants would endorse the Time Machine in Manchester as a great place to game (Even better if Magic the Gathering had never been invented...)

Well, probability was in our favour

Thanks again to Dave and everyone who turned up, I had an awesome, if exhausting, day. The Time Machine definitely gets my endorsement, even though I didn't see more than the toilets (and I'd rather I didn't see one of them). The girls had a hoot there and Ingrid came away with armfuls of stuff. It was a really good atmosphere and I was really pleased to play Chris and Matt who I've never played before and both with an army I'd never played against. Next time I'll take at least 3 nightspinner fms Oh, and I've been practicing my "yesssss" dirty man voice too...

I'm glad your wife and daughters enjoyed themselves.

Yeah, it was a good weekend. For once I walked away from a tournament with a winning record! It was great to meet four new players, but disappointing that the state of Pennsylvania wasn't better represented. I look forward to battling against the NH players again.

I fully intend on it! Once Will hacks out the details for the mega-battle (he's hosting it so it's dependent on his schedule) he'll spread the word.
