Well just done my final check that I've not missed anything and I don't need to perform some panic painting  :p

Good luck to all the competitors and see you tomorrow morning.

Jesus, I would be too! How can you score 0! Matt even put on his form that he didn't paint the army and got 35.

I really think painting shouldn't make that much of a difference to a wargaming tournament, painting competition yes, gaming no.

Am working on the entire list - will update the championship shortly. But also think I noticed a discrepancy in the scoring for rounds 3&4.

And I don't understand the painting scores at all - 3x 37, 3x 35, 6x 34, 1x 30 and my sympathies Andy. Because there are 0.5 points missing from three scores and the other discrepancies, I just think your score got omitted in error - but with even 34 points, you would have got 4th.

There is something seriously wrong with that ... Andy I'm sure your painting score simply wasn't entered. I do have to say though I think your scouts would of let you down. The judges only get 5 mins per army max (considering how many armies they have to mark) and so they would only have a quick look and probably didn't see much detail on the scouts. I suppose this is where i'm luckly to have bought a yellow eldar army; it's very bright and easy to see detail.

Also look at Rob Lane; won best painted and got 30 points (I got 35!)

I think i might email Conrad and say that in future i shall mark the EPIC painting. It does appear that whoever did it hasn't played any game in the 40K universe.

I've updated the web site.

EpicA UK Championship

Ginger, the scores tie up with my notes from the weekends, however I can't explain the 0.5 in 3 scores either.

No, no and no. If you do this people will bring unpainted / sprayed minatures and this is NOT what we want. Remember painting is just as much apart of the hobby as gaming, yet winning the painting trophie does not have the same stigma as winning the tournament. To win a tournament you should be a good player and have a nicely painted army. I was gutted when WFB got rid of background points.

Also just to say thank you to all EPIC players for the smooth running of the event. Sadly i can't remember much of the event apart from losing alot, meeting a man who takes custard with his curry and the Greek eurovision entry!!!!  :D

Cheers

P.S. I'm off to Greece!

I agree that painting should count, but not to the extent that it does now and Britcon didn't include a painting mark but nobody had unpainted models IIRC.

Best painted is rarely judged on the score as the CC has shown!

Personally I reckon that painting scores should be entirely seperate from the tourney scores.

Same way 3 of us picked up a mystery .5!

I honestly have no idea how the soft scores work at the CC.
