Hello there Tiny-Tim, talk about coincidence!

I'll see if I can get my friend in here to say hello. Together we can perhaps arrange a meet up.

In case any gamers in the York area are interested, York Wargames Society have their annual show (called Vapnatak) on Sunday Feb 5th at York race course. It's one of the best shows of the year.

I would like to concur about Vapnatak it is a great show. Unfortuneately, I'll be travelling back from Edinburgh on that day and it is also the gaming day after FSA in Mansfield.

Look forward to meeting up for a game soon.

Hey Ouroboros

Nice to hear from you.

2 of us live in Holgate, near Hob Moor and the third of our circle lives in foxwood or woodthorpe. It would be great to expand our gaming circle.

I have also had 2 games against Tiny-Tim. He has a dedicated gaming shed with a shedload of terrain and a full sized table. Not that I am jealous or anything :)

Cheers

Hello there AgeingHippy

All I've got is a 6 by 4 dining table.

I have a car so travel isn't a problem. When do you guys normally play?

Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons are the best time for me. Travel isn't a problem either.

What on earth is Betty's? A strip club? The name bemuses me.

It's a high class tea shop. Waiter service and everything. The cakes are to die for (as are the prices).

Oh coolness.

I've never been to one of those, but it does sound bang up my street.

I am afraid I once went there and think it is a rip off. Scones were stale and the tea was just tea.

Loooong queues outside Betties in York every weekend.

Anyway, back to the original thread.

Ouroboros, our group generally plays on a Thursday on one of our dining tables, but these are about 3' wide, or even narrower. One of us tends to be GM (games master) while the other 2 fight it out, and then play the game ;)

I have a post on the York Garrison website looking for epic players but not finding any. But that location may provide enough tables of the required size.

Just to clear up any confusion, this is the third in our group, not Ouroboros's mate from Acomb :)

There is always York Wargames Society: (many moons ago I was on the committee)
http://www.yorkwargames.org/Index.htm

But you'd probably have to turn up and ask around cause I don't think they've got a forum.

We usually play every Saturday during the day. Evenings are problematic for me for reasons (of a medical nature) that I won't go in to.

I live in Hemingbrough and would happily host games if people can get here. My partner usually puts on a spread (sandwiches and pies) if she knows in advance how many are turning up.

I'll be at the show on Sunday if anyone fancies meeting on neutral ground as it were.

"Looks like we could have quite a group soon."
Agreed. But I do find trying to get gamers together in the same place at the same time somewhat akin to juggling cats!

Cool. Can't make this weekend as off to watch the rugby, but the best thing to do is to pick a date and then see how many can make it. (Please not a tournament weekend though)
