Right; maybe the prizes need boobtrapping with explosives to discourage people from winning?!

Like the idea of an informal banquet/meal.

Excellent :-) Seeing as interest is there and the date seems fairly aribtrary THIS EVENT WILL BE RUNNING ON SATURDAY 23rd OF JANUARY 2010.  I'll confirm this with the venue today. I've made this decision so as there is longer between the Winter Warmer and FSA, thus going a little more lightly on peoples pockets ;-)

We can now continue to discuss the use of scenarios (possibly testing the idea out a the london event.
Is anybody interested in doing something after the tourney or shall we leave that as an informal arrangement?

Right book me in :) with Orks or Nids
My mate with Necrons or Eldar
And (provisional) My mate from Belgium and his mate with Orks and Space wolves.

It'll be my first Epic torni so be gentle ;)

ZOG; that's excellent  :) ! More interest! Should we start taking bookings and such like now? It would certainly provide a little bit of cash for scenery and such to begin with...what are other tourney organisers experience?

Well rather than spend good money on scenery.
How about we bring down a set for a 6 x 4 board each? it doesn't take up much room and i probably can equip 2 such boards when i finish dry-brushing em

Just a thought...

Also what about boards?

we've plenty of boards and scenery is something the the Brisotl Vanguard have been meaning to stock up on regardless; we're well renowned for the quality of our games tables in 40k land so wish to kepe the quality up with epic ;-)
However; i wonder whether we'll be able to get all that much done so people bringiing scenery and even GUARANTEEING a table or 2 as Zog has done would be helpful i guess :-)
One thing i'd like to do with this tourney is to have themed 'sensible/realistic' tables as opposed to the more 'balance the board' style that we usually have. No criticism as that's what proper tourney play should be but again i want this event ot be a little different.

If you've any specific requests I'd be happy to give it a go.

Scratch that. Once my orks are done, THEN I'm happy to give it a go.

If I am in the UK, yes! (Though generally the later in January the better, if I am around I will probably have to go to the week long residential 6mm WWII campaign I used to go to and that is often around the earlier time.)

OK MoK What sort of Specific scenery were you thinking of?
I need to do some as i'm doing the Orks anyway.
I have Tyanids, Space marines, Chaos (not started), Eldar and Orks
So any thing for those armies i can have a bash at.

Man alive - I'd love to go, but I'm going to be doing the Rickshaw Run :D.

I've a few chums in Bristol so that would be an awesome double whammy.

WHat's the Rickshaw run?

As regards to terrain i really just meant boards that seem to have some sort of sense to them; i.e. imperial city in a valley with a river etc...if anything it's more to do with connecting pieces of terrain with roads and other such but we're going to be getting together soon to discuss ideas for nice boards depending on the scenarios that we choose.
