lol, I don't think that proving that the 'Net:EA' version of the Siegemasters is a more balanced army list would be a terrible thing. :)

Awfully sorry, just felt I should really give them an outing. Sadly Matt has said no to using the downpowered revised version :(

This makes me kind of glad that I missed out altogether. If TRC puts forward his min-maxed version, I think I will definitely need to revise my "fantasy Epic" prediction.

Lol :O  :p

I am currently debating with myself whether or not to field the following

150 Regimental HQ
200 Deathstrikes
250 Sappers (taking this, even though they aren't that hot, I just like the concept and can't min max everything :) )
125 Infantry
125 Flak
125 Flak
125 Infantry
125 Flak
150 RT
125 Infantry
150 RT
150 RT
125 Infantry
150 RT
150 RT
125 Infantry
150 Light Tanks
150 Light Tanks
150 Thunderbolts
200 Fortified positions
19 activations, two lots of fortifications, 110 units

It would suceed in a) not getting me any sportsmanship and b) get the siege revision/get siege banned! This is incidentally 250 points over if using the revised rules and the arty batteries aren't in cover (they have to have transports) so they become a weaker choice, making a 'revised' list pretty different (replace three batteries with a compnay, lose some other activations, get some upgrades etc).

Or I could just take a revised list along, but pretend they are official and play x points down according to the offical list. Something which could help VP wise!

Need to decide quickly though!

I foresee 5 draws as time strangely runs out in every game :)

There'd be a result between Chris and myself, if we played. I just can't resisit a challenge and I'd only be starting 20 units down on him. :)

Ah, it seems I can't find my flak guns. So a slight modification to the above is called for based on the bare metal I can find!

150 Regimental HQ (BTS)
- 075 Thudd guns
- 050 Snipers
250 Sappers
200 Deathstrikes
125 Infantry
125 Flak (+ transports)
125 Flak (+ emplacements)
125 Infantry
150 RT (+ emplacements)
150 RT (+ emplacements)
125 Infantry
150 RT (+ emplacements)
150 RT (+ emplacements)
125 Infantry
150 RT (+ emplacements)
125 Infantry
150 Light Tanks
150 Light Tanks
150 Thunderbolts
100 Fortified positions (Wire, Trenches, Bunkers)

As regards sportsmanship Chris I can only see you dropping one point a game as people vote to never to play that army again!

As Tim says it will certainly be a challenge to play.

Tis a shame I can't use the toned down version, well that should change after Matt plays me :)

Is this the army Tim spent ~3 years perfecting a highly specialised army to beat?? :p  - if so, don't be too lenient on the opposition; after all you have a point to make here :D

(And I can cheer you on from the sidelines as I won't be facing it!! )

Na, but I had to wait a year to test our my revised ork army against Chris.

Interestingly enough, I ended up using a very similar ork army against Bill and his Seigemasters at Open War 9 earlier this year. I was hammered by Bill  :p

Point to note for those that haven't had much chance to play against seigers and some of the other stranger armies. Whilst it is still good to try and impose your tactics on the opposing army, against some this will not work and you have to play a style dedicated against that army.

For example: Seigemasters push objectives as far back as possible onto each flank. Try to keep them penned back in their half and go for a 2-0 or 3-0 victory not the spectacular 5-0.
