Who are you expecting down Stu? Brand new, or some experience?

Other than yourself, Nat and me it's mostly newbies or people coming back after a long time out.

Some members of Vanguard, the local club I belong to, who play many systems like 40K, WFB, Flames etc, have recently expressed interest in the system. I've obviously been trying to help as much as possible and promoting the great game it is. My experience is limited and I still consider myself a novice so am very pleased that you are willing to come down and help.

The room above the Duke, where we used to meet once a month, has become the gaming room for Vanguard following the closure of Vanguard Wargaming (the venue where the last Winter Warmer was held). This has meant that the Bristol & SW Epic Club's regular space has been taken over slightly by other gamers. Also Ryan's 'retirement' (hopefully temporarily) from Epic has combined to remove the momentum from the B & SW Epic regular meetings and tournaments. I'm hoping that I can restart that.

A Vanguard member called Cai (who some of you will have played at Ryan's events) is also hoping to get the Winter Warmer (and maybe the Summer Sizzler) going again. I'd love to see that happen so want to promote the game within Vanguard and get as many regular Epic players in the area here again. The 19th is hopefully a small step in that direction.

Darren has texted me that he can no longer make it tonight, I will be there at 6 with minigeddon armies to run intros.

Will you have your marines available?

I thought last night went very well so would like to do another one next month, and hopefully the following month etc on a regular basis. A few more Vanguard members seem to have been inspired to dig out their Epic armies and get playing again.

With any luck a few more non-Vanguard people will see this thread and join in too.

Baring any more child induced plague, then the above date works for me...

I have 6 (plus one possible) Vanguard members who can hopefully attend the 10th December meeting.

I'm hoping that both of you (Darren and Horatio) can also make it. If you know of anyone else in the area who might be interested please do let them know.

Should be fine mate. I might well be overseeing games, in which case you can borrow my Marine/Guards. If I end up playing someone (as they have no opponent otherwise) you or I can use my unpainted/badly painted orks (ebay).
