Zombo,

It's funny how the only person who has a problem with an army is the one who has never been to an EPIC tournament.... I think your views can be taken with a 'pinch of salt'.

You've made your point very clear that you don't like tournament play ... and that's fine; however I can't see why you need to keep posting on this thread (after all it's suposed to be about an event which you're not taking part) ... or are you one of these people who like the last word

Now I an slightly annoyed; you've managed to take this thread away from it's origional intention; i.e. players post their army lists and then have some banter before the event ... whether you meant to or not you have distroyed one part of the FSA 09 event.

Like I said earlier attend an event ... they are not what you think; and I think you would be very suprised. If you're not planning to attend an event then maybe you need to ask yourself whether you really need to post in certain threads or not.

So despite the fact that there was a good chance I would have come to this event if I was able, I still get attacked for getting involved in the banter? I made it clear I had no problem with people playing with this sort of list, and just put forward my opinion of it. I attacked noone, I did nothing wrong, yet everyone leapt at me.

Fine, if the opinions of those outside the "epic uk" commune are not wanted I'll step back. I thought this was a forum for free discussion, but obviously I was wrong. Who says "epic uk" is insular...

I shall have the last word because I have studied long and hard for this day, and my words bear the weight of continents.

Well after all the postings the tournament has now been and gone with possibly the most predictable result for those that follow this kind of thing.

Yes the winner was Dave T (deptdexs) with Space Marines
I was second with my anti Air Assault list
& Rug was third.

The also rans were
Nathan
Mark Hargrave
Kevin Bott
Joe J
Mark Preston
Dave B
Mark Williams
Alan S
Steve G
Steve P
Nick Rice
Gavin
Damian
Russell B
& Ryan D.

Ryan & Kev picked up painting awares and Alan won most sporting.

I would like to thank my three opponents Alan, Rug, & Kev for three greast games which pushed my army to the limits and had me really worried on several occations.

Having to play against Rug and Imperial Guard was especially difficult as Rug knows how to hurt Eldar badly from playing them so much and I always felt that my list was not suited to face his.

So now back to the drawing board for the next tournament Open War.

Unfortunately you are a bit late for that :p

In case you (or anyone else) fancies the trip in the future, the venue is :-
"The Gas Club"
off Ratcliff Gate (A617) at the junction with St Peter's way (A6009)
Mansfield

Its about a 2.5 hour drive up from London if there is no traffic on the M1

I thought it would probably be the Gas Club again but I wasn't sure, and didn't fancy driving two hours only to find out the venue had changed!

An awesome tournament, incredible fun.

Got battered by Tim and Steve as usual. I'm getting used to this now, but these days I can take home the consolation that I can make Tim shout things like "You're garrisoning all your terminators?!?!" and I nearly tipped Steve over the edge into a nervous breakdown. I had to go away to allow him to recover his nerves and when I got back he was still falling to bits.

Much more satisfying than actually winning I'd say! :)

Against my last opponent, Ryan I had incredible fun, not because I managed a win, but because we had each other in bits with our silly Space Marine based jokes. I apologise to others who where trying to concentrate.

Cheers all. Unfortunately I won't be able to come to Open War (Dave T has my ticket now), But I'm determined to attend the CC in Liverpool, so I'll see you all there.
