Hi all,

We’ve got something a little different planned for you enjoy… we are pleased to present; Orktoberfest!

This is an EpicUK tournament, with a few slight tweaks:

1) Orks rule! This event is for the greenskins only. The current epicentre of Epic gaming in the UK (down in the West Country) is awash with Ork armies, so by popular demand we’re putting on an event with the focus solely on these tactical geniuses. (The Orks that is, not the players themselves…)

2) This event will also serve as a practice run of some variants on the standard GT scenario. Further information on this will be provided in due course.

3) The event is only open to Ork lists; including the approved EpicUK ones, as well as any other existing lists (e.g NetEA) or in development ones (like the Bad Mooz or OGBM list).

4) Given the above divergences from the established tournament format, and the fact that this will be one of the first meetups since Covid lockdowns started easing, this event is deliberately casual in nature and will not be part of the EUK Championship.

Orktoberfest will be taking place on Sat 2nd October, and we are returning once again to Bristol Independent Gaming (B.I.G).

There are sixteen spaces available. Tickets are £15, and are available from the EUK site here. Please note, tickets for this event do not include lunch, there are various options a short walk from the venue.

As ever it’s the standard 3 games at 3,000 points.
Lists are due by midnight on Fri 17th of Sept.

Schedule

09:30 – 10:00 – Registration and Welcome.
10:00 – 12:30- Game 1
12:30 – 13:15 – Lunch
13:15 – 15:45 – Game 2
16:00 – 18:30 – Game 3
18:30– 19:00 – Awards and tidy up.

Getting there & Parking.

Address is 16 Cater Rd, Bristol BS13 7TW to be precise. There is parking available on site.
Please note however that, unlike the Old Duke pub (Winter Warmer venue) BIG is NOT within walking distance of Temple Meads station.

Yeah me too. Still we have 5 months and hopefully it'll be feasible to paint up 600 points a month on average. Consider it a challenge? I'm gradually building my first load. Alternatively a few people with large ork collections might be up for loaning some to others to play that don't have orks.

From beyond the wall - subject to the whims of the Great Nurgle, myself and Gerry are hoping to join.
I of course will now spend the next three months finding a technicality in the Ork lists to ruin it for everyone (max 1/3 planes!! shame....).

Nah it's a Ferals Squiggoth in game. The orks are getting it to go in the direction of their choosing using a looted crane on it's back dangling a tasty smaller Squiggoth tantalisingly just out of reach infront of it.

Since any ork list is available (not just epic uk) the bad moonz list has potential for sillyness

Not my intent, please can you post your thoughts on how to avoid broken builds in the list development thread?

hi, would love to come down (from Scotland) and join in on this. never been to a tournament, recent returnee to hobby after 20-something year absence (2nd edition when it first came out!).

Ork player so this sounds like my jam.

Will look into permissions with her that must be obeyed and buy a ticket.

Hey evidentside, be great to have you along.

We're a pretty laid back crowd so don't worry about your break from the hobby, you'll still have a blast.

Cheers
Reedar
