Glad you had a good time,it's very nice to know everyboby who comes to an epic ?tournament is pleasantly surprised by the friendly atmosphere.

Every newcomer is usually surprised at how tiring a tournament can be,you should try it with very heavy dice ?

I'm glad you enjoyed the tournament Gary - you got a decent position and you definitely deserved the largest painting bonus too in my opinion.

Hope to see you again - You'll be coming to Ginger/Biggle/Gavin's London Tournament I hope? :p

---------------

Nathan was using Black Legion btw... Dunno about Kevin

Thanks guys. Yes, I definitely plan to be at the London tournament. I'm trying to decide what to bring for the experimental day - Titans or Tau.

Don't decide quite yet, or at least not until I have had time to decide (be bribed :) ) which lists to allow (eg, I am unsure whether to go with AMTL 3, or an earlier version).

That depends on what you're expecting from the second day I'd say.

If you want a balanced tournament environment, I'd suggest V2 (Despite its flaws).

If you want the day to help with balancing the experimental army lists in a tournament environment, I'd suggest V3.x and the like (Including whatever Tyranid and Necron version is the latest, etc), because the feedback from such playtesting will be very, very useful.

If the second day is a 'friendly', then I think we can afford to go a bit mad Gavin. I'd go for the latest of each list you want included. And hopefully players can write battle reports for posting here.

As noted somewhere it might be a good idea for a proportion of the games to be fought against published lists too. I duinno how you want to arrange that but I guess that's for a different thread....

Can't wait to see your Tau btw Gary, if your guard is anything to go by...

I think that experimental lists should be forced to play against a published list. If both players have an army that they want to test then roll off who gets to test.

I'd suggest that if players want to bring an experimental force they should have a 'standard' force too. If we all agree that experimental forces have to play standard forces I'd go with the latest incarnation of lists. I agree that such games should be documented and reported here.

I've seen Gary's Tau and they do look very nice :)
