THE PAST

The chattering on the other side of the rusty, red coloured ridge was growing louder. Baron Felgrimm picked himself up from the smooth, warm rock as he flashed his hand quickly at his ear, batting away the dirt of his ancient home world.
Standing tall and proud, Felgrimms long white, braided beard has seen numerous conflicts blacken the landscape of his Strongholds domain. From rampaging pirates,to the depredations of the Ork race, Felgrimm has met each invader and seen them defeated.
Although stubborn and unshakable, much like the rest of his people, the Baron knew when a bad hand had been dealt. He knew when the game was up.

Striding back towards the star ports huge iron gates, the Barons Colonial Veterans manned the heavy weaponry stationed around the walls of the fortress with a devotion so common over the last few weeks.
Clad in the green uniforms of their stronghold and a blue enviro helmet, they scan the horizon for a sign of their foe.
The sign was given.

Bursting into view from every opening and hill in the distance were creatures of nightmare. Space monsters never before seen by his people. Claws, teeth and images beyond the reason of any sane being.
There was no where else to fall back. There was nothing left to defend. His peoples sprawling catacomb like cities had already been devoured by these invaders. Consumed to fill their bottomless hunger for evil.

Standing on the battlement in glistening power armour passed down from his descendants before him, Baron Felgrimm spoke to his assembled clansmen for the last time. His scarred and battered voice echoing against the rock. Rising to choir in the ears of the thousands assembled.

“Today we fall alongside the memory of our families and our forefathers. Today we make our race proud and defend our culture to the last!!â€Â

Did you read about the Netepic tunnelling Land Train? I always did enjoy those rules and the concept .
