A group of guys at our local games club have recently gotten into NetEpic as something different to try. We have a good mix of armies and have all been able to play a good few games now.

My initial games have had mixed success:

Game 4: City Fight with Orks vs Ultra Marines

Goff Klan supported by Stompas, Dreads and shiney new Gargant storm the centre of the city, pushing back the Ultra Marines and destroying supporting tanks and anti-air units. Stompas revert to mob rule and surge forward, stomping the Tech Marine support unit. Gargant ambles forward causing havoc until concentrated fire from the Marine tanks bring it to a halt, immobile but still firing.

Bad Moonz hold the flank in the face of Terminators, Bikes and Assault Marines, whilst supporting Shock Attack Gunz pick off any Ultra Marine brave enough to poke their head out.

Kult of Speed surge forward into bulk of Ultra Marine force but are caught in crossfire and, unsupported, are wiped out.

Man of the match: Gargant for being a such a concern to Marine player that the entire Ultra Marine centre withdrew rather than take it on.

Funny Moment: Several in this game. Stompas for reverting to mob rule and charging forwards, catching Paul’s forces off guard. Shock Attack gun for casually blowing Thunderhawk out of sky with crazed snotlings. Gargant’s Gutbusta shot scattering onto dreadnoughts then rolling into supporting Rhinos.

City and Fields fight with Orks and Guard vs Tau and Squats (game called on turn 2 due to time)

Goff Klan supported with Dreads, Stompas and a new Slasha Gargant make slow progress into the teeth of Tau crisis suits and Squat artillery but make headway ready for an assault on key objectives

Bad Moonz provide cover to allied guard tankz, helping them out when squat bikers tear through the guard lines. Shock attack guns take a particular dislike to Tau Pathfinder teams, wiping them out before their marker lights can be brought to bear.

Kult of Speed take on a right hook, knocking out squat bikers before seizing right flank objectives. Suicidal lone buggy with supa-charged engines tries an optimistic assassination run on Tau command team but gets taken out by squad over-watch.

Man of the match: Shock attack guns for proving Tau and Squats also do not like snotlings up ‘em

Funny moments: Guard player's Capital Imperialis taking everything the Tau and Squats through at it and refusing to die. The Mad Boyz who, despite being fitted out with jet packs, decided to spend the whole game on overwatch, guarding the rear of the table.

That city board is fantastic. I bet that was really enjoyable to play on. I'm glad that you're enjoying playing NetEpic :).

We are fortunate that most of the gamers at our club never throw anything away. When word got around that we were playing Epic, loads of people had miniatures/terrain/buildings we could use.

I have been very lucky and have been able to amass a pretty big ork army quite quickly through donations and the excellent Defeat in Detail miniatures from Vanguard.

Yes, that's a truly fantastic looking city scape. Well done. Is that some kind of battle map you have there and if so can I ask do you know what company makes it?
