Turn 1
Orks win Strategy and send in a set of planes to attack the Deathstrikes. Two are shot down by a combination of 4 Hydras, but the third plane scores a hit and destroys one of the missile platforms. (Deathstrikes have a critical hit roll would be interesting as there were a lot of forces grouped around them.)
Orks were helped by both sets of Thunderbolts failing to go onto CAP. Both sides went into a holding pattern of the Guard holding back activations and the Orks doubling/marching forwards. Except for a Supa-Stompa that fired on an Infantry company with a massive 15BP. The company were in cover but still took a load of wounds and BM. Soopa Gargant doubled up and shot two Valkyries.
Orks ran out of activations and the Guard pounced on the central Gargant. Stormtroopers doubled in to position around the back of the Gargant, Reg HQ into the front of it, all shooting to remove power fields followed by the Warhound and Shadowsword. However some poor shooting meant that the Gargant was relatively untouched although no shields remained.
Deathstrike rallied.
Guard won strategy for turn 2.
Deathstrike fires and wipes out Supa-Stompa in a single shot.
Reg HQ engages central Gargant with supporting fire from Stormtroopers. Combat goes to a send round and the gargant wins reducing the Reg HQ to three stands. The Gargant made 18 reinforced armour saves during this combat.
In reply the stormtroopers are engaged and destroyed. Gatling Gargant tries to engage the Warhound but fails and fires instead.
The shadowsword continues to snipe wounds off the Gargants and the right flank Gargant engages an infantry company, pushing harder and starting a fire. The Infantry company lose and are reduced to a single stand. Rough Riders make a nuisance of themselves and are engaged by the Supastompa. This goes to two rounds with the Rough Riders being wiped out.
Both sides lick their wounds. One gargant is untouched, one has three fires and 4 wounds left, one has two wounds and a fire. One Supa-Stompa is dead, the other is untouched. Half of the Fightas are destroyed.
Reg HQ is down to three stands, one infantry company is down to a single stand, Rough Riders are gone and Deathstrikes have fired.
Turn 3
Orks break the Warhound. Guard break the central Gargant, 2 wounds left, which runs away. Gargant comes out of cover on right flank to try and destroy the Shadowsword, it fails. Guard pushes forward to get into Orks half and claim an object. Orks go after BTS with aircraft. Lone infantry stand contests objective with Gargant on right flank. Hydras fire on Gargant. Orks go after BTS with aircraft. Thunderbolts fire on gargant. Orks go after BTS with aircraft. Basilicks fire on Gargant. Shadowsword fires on Gargant and reduces it to one wound.
Game is even with both sides having Take and Hold. Fire rages on in the Big Mek’s Gargant stripping it of its final DC and handing the game to the Guard.

Fun game with big swings both ways.
Grot missiles missed with both shots – double and cover will do that to you (I have the same success rate with AT Warp missiles too.)
Supa-stompa with Mega-Lobbas is brilliant and prossibly better than 3 Soopaguns, so will have to test again.

Will now bring in some of the other units to report on.

This list works in some ways and is restrictive in others. Against any list that does not have deathstrikes, it is very good, but you almost have to accept the loss of a gargant (and BTS) when facing Steel Legion.

Going to test multiple Grot Missiles on a Supa-Stompa sometime soon to see how they are.

Megalobbas may prove overpowered, they were certainly scary to face, but that's an easy enough thing to fix with a stat decrease, eg change them to D6 BP as an initial step?

Seems very swingy. Not sure I'd ake something that could end up with 1BP. What about 3BP instead?

3BP, you might as well just take the 2BP macro soopagun.

Currently the Megalobba generates 4-6 BP, so a range of 12-18 BP for a triple Lobba Gargant, with an average result of 15 BP.

Changing that to D6 would make the top end the same, but we'd go down to a minimum possible BP of 3 (!), with the average result being 10.5 BP.

Except that would be the difference between 6 and 9 BP and at 9 you are getting an extra template.

I'd rather have two macro templates at 4BP, plus some other cool gun, than three without macro, personally. YMMV.
