Another grand game. Impressive battle reporting once again. Some distinctly interesting runs of luck for both sides: Eldar some very good critical hit rolls - something wrong with the ammunition storage on the LDF Tanks? Eldar, awful rolling on rallying - army rattled by unexpectedly meeting an armoured force? Lunar Defence Force, almost nil failed activation rolls - superb training pre-battle? I've been wondering how ground-pounding Stormtroopers would do. Did you break all 3 formations, or just 2? |

Cheers all, two formations of Stormtroopers pretty much wiped out thanks OB! Concentrated on them this game, as easier to kill than super heavy tanks at least! |

Life as a Storm Trooper in the LDF (Minervan) is tough. Almost uniquely, in this battle, one formation survived and spread out to capture objectives. The other two formations were, as usual, eliminated as an effective force. Doubtless some individuals will have survived to form cadres' for future formations. In the face of big tough formations (Heavy Tank Companies, or big titans) we tend to pick (concentrate effort) on smaller support formations to get greater control of the battle. Especially if we don't have the ideal tools to take out the big boys. Of course given that climate in our games having some more difficult to get at (dare one say expendable) formations provides a target to distract the enemy, . . . . So even though they don't survive they do their job, . . . |
