Start of Game Start of Game Start of Game TBolts break a scout formation Barracuda go on CAP TBolts get CAPed They lay a BM on another scout formation The scouts attempt to double, fail and move The SC doubles up and lays a BM on the pathfinders They attempt to double, fail and regroup Terminators come in, laying a BM on the Crisis Raptors retain and engage the Broadsides One goes down for no losses Three get away Fire Warriors double and lay a BM on the THawk Crisis attempt to advance, fail and shoot taking out a Terminator The barrage kills half a Pathfinder formation A retinue comes in and lays some BMs on scouts and Skyrays Another comes in and takes out a Pathfinder Devilfish, they break and run A retinue retains and destroys the Skyrays after summoning Hammerheads take out a marine. Scouts double and lay a BM on the Warlord A retinue summons and advances on the Crisis, laying a BM. 2 Barracuda formations take out a marine in the Warlord's formation Fire Warriors break them

Turn 2 Turn 2 Raptors summon and engage the Broadsides again They're wiped out and the Crisis break from the support BM Terminators retain and engage the Pathfinders They are wiped out as well Pathfinders take out a Marine in the open They marshal and move back. The retinue in the open breaks some scouts The Hammerheads attempt return fire but fail and regroup Helltalons stand down The Pathfinders in the building fail again? A THawk straffes the Fire Warriors in the open, taking three out Barracuda stand down Helltalons stand down The Firewarriors double and lay a BM on the Warlord They marshal Barracuda hit them for a BM The last THawk stands down More barracuda for more BMs The Orca stands down

Turn 3 Turn 3 Crisis double and grab a T&H Scouts double and take a marine in the Warlord's Hunter A drop retinue summons and advances, grabbing a T&H and taking out a Hammerhead Barracuda break the Warlord Helltalons go on CAP to protect them Pathfinders double and lay a BM while contesting Hammerheads advance and take out two Daemons The Terminators double to contest, laying a BM Barracuda stand down The THawk gets CAPed while breaking the Pathfinders in the building The Orca stands down Helltalons break the scouts grabbing blitz A THawk clears the Pathfinders contesting a T&H The Raptors grab Blitz End of Game End of Game

3-0 Red Corsairs with BTS, Blitz and T&H. I was worried when it looked like my drop wouldn't catch must. I tried to use up some of the Tau's activations before the retinues came down by stalling with the Helltalons and engaging on the far left with the THawks. That went well, but it was Matt's failed activation rolls that really helped me the most.

cool report got lost a little with the lists and what was happening. hope you gave him some tips for next game. could have garrisoned the FW and the path finders on overwatch on the blitz to creat a decent bubble along with keeping the skyrays in the centre or even garrisoned the broadsides on overwatch and played a defensive game turn 1. Then counted turn 2 with coordinate tetras creating crossfire for the FW and pathfinders. Edit i wrote some dumb things

This was the list I took. (ignore my note in blue) Dave totally smashed my ass. He quickly target my right flank. Then broken as many formations possible. With those broken formations and the six that failed to activate I had 5 or so detachments that tried to do more than lay a blast marker. Turn one was FUBAR. The endless shit I did wrong. To help Dave out, I screwed my myself in the deployment. The skyway's AA bubble covered 10-15cm off board. Continuing down that path I stuck my BTS outside of this bubble and far out on the right flank. I choose to engage the air drop with mech FW, swinging around for the crossfire, only to have the LOS/LOF blocked by his Thawk. Those FWs were wiped out next turn. At some point I forgot which detachment was his BTS and went after a different detachment, his right flank drop podded detachment. With his BTS broken and trying to hide, another wonderful display of the day's tactics! The only part of the plan that worked out was the scouts. I had 5 detachments with the scout ability. Those provided a huge area of denial for the air drop with ML coverage on my entire frontage. Another day with some highly motivated Tau would put up a better showing.
