Hello, guys!

I got my group to agree on making a battle report on a battle using the OGBM list some weeks ago and here you have.

- Points: 2500
- Armies: OGBM and Yme-Loc Eldar(UK)
- Scenario: Breakout.

This time i tried to make a different kind of report, as i noticed that previous, while good for the amount of data given, were not as fun to read, so i went and experimented with a more classical and visual style, with less and less precise information. Please tell me your thoughts on it as I am going to make changes for next time.

OGBM v3.3.1

Gargant - Grot Missile, 2x Gatling Kannon, Flakka Dakka, Power Fields (Black/red one)
Gargant - Mega Lobba, 2x Gatling Kannon, Flakka Dakka (Grey/white one)

Supa Stompa 3x SoopaGuns, Extra Armour Bitz
Supa Stompa 3x SoopaGuns, Extra Armour Bitz
Supa Stompa 3x SoopaGuns, Flakka Dakka

Fightas x3
Fightas x3

Yme-Loc Eldar (UK)

Avatar
Aspect Warriors - Autarch and Wave Serpents
Guardians - Wave Serpents
Wind Riders - All Vypers
Falcons - 4 and 2 Fire Storms
Fire Prisms
Night Spinners
Scorpion
Cobra
Fenix Bombers

Deployment: both of us went for cover as much as possible. The 2 Supa-Stompas without Flakka Dakka were set under the Gargants AA umbrella. Orks get full shields on almost all the WEs.

First Turn. Orks get the initiative.

O: Black/Red Gargant Sustain both missiles on Cobra, wiping it out.
E: Prism advance and fire on Grey/Black Supa-Stompa for not even a shield down.
O: Grey/blue Supa-Stompa sustain fire on the NightSpinners, also hitting the Falcons with the template, killing one from each, breaking the Nightspinners.
E: Falcons Rally towards the forest, taking out all the BMs.
O: Grey/white Gargant makes an advance towards the Aspect Warriors, killing some.

E: Aspect Warriors march out of the table. 1 out of 5 formations out.
O: Red/black Supa-Stompa sustains fire on the Windriders, killing some.
E: Windriders make a march out of the table. 2 out of 5 formations out.
O: Grey/black Supa-stompa makes an advance towards the rock, shooting the Falcons, destroying some.
E: Fenix Bombers go on CAP.

O: Fightas ground attack on the Falcons but calculate badly the AA umbrella, receiving shoots from Falcons, Prisms and Fénix, choosing to jinx and not shoot to survive.
E: Guardians march out of the table. 3 out of 5 formations out.
O: Fightas ground attack the Falcons, killing some and breaking them, and they flee out of the table. 3,5 out of 5 formations out.
E: Scorpion advances on the Grey/black Supa-Stompa, stripping its shields.

No one rallies except the Grey/black Supa-Stompa which gets one BM out.

Turn 2. Eldar get the initiative. The Avatar is summoned, but we forgot there was no one on table that could summon it ;D .

E: Prism march out the table. 4,5 out of 5 formations out.
O: Grey/white Gargant double on the Scorpion, taking one DC down and an extra BM from a lucky 6BPs on Mega Lobba for 3BMs. It flees towards out the table but can't reach it so it takes cover using the ruins.
O: Red/black Gargant retains and assaults the Avatar. The Gargant wins the combat but the Invulnerable Save saves 5 or 6 hits and the Avatar flees unscathed out of the table.

Victory for the Eldar!!!

Conclusions of the battle (they didn't fit in the previous message):

First to say that neither of us knew the opponent army before making the lists but the scenario was decided beforehand, but i chose to ignore it and use one of the generic OGBM lists i had written, and the most powerful i could think of for the fun of it.

It was fun overall and the Orks fared way better than expected for the army (not much suited to this scenario due to low activations) and the list i made (even less suited due to formation numbers and size to cover the scape routes, plus too much AA, and Extra Fields for a supposed BTS).

All the time during the battle i was under the mentality that i was going to lose for sure as every-time we played this scenario the defender never got to keep the attacker's units on the board due to the fact that one can make them go out the board with the movement when breaking but my opponent wasn't on that opinion in this case, and i have to say he was right. If it wasn't for the wrong summoning of the Avatar the Orks would have won and quite comfortably (i only lost 2 shields and no DC) and broke units quite easily (mainly due to the extra BM from so many 6BPs i put on the list), and apart from my clumsy use of the first Fightas, no one made big bad decisions. Luck was a bit less than average for both, and it didn't have a big part for most of the battle.

We felt the list was quite good with very good shooting for Ork standards and the weapons' range overcame the 15cm army speed so we never felt the need to use the Push'em Harder Rule and were intimidating enough that no one tried to assault them.
These impressions were also because of the scenario, as everyone was under an Ork weapon most of the time and there was almost no necessity for Orks to move, and the difference in activations was overcome quickly first with the formations broken or destroyed at the beginning, second with the distance (out of assault but under most Ork weapons range) and deployment under cover, and third with the ones marching out the table.
