Post subject:  Blood Angels vs Ulthwé, Blood Angels vs Saranes -3000p

I played 2 battles today. One against BA (with Ulthwé), one with BA (against Saranes crusade IG).

The first was a massacre (Assault Marines and Bikes + Land Speeders against Warlock + Mounted Guardians + Falcon swarms), Assault Marines were on foot, and the Warlock wiped them out in 2 turns. The Assault guys are still weak, not worth their points, they REALLY need the transports! The turning point was in turn 1 -when 2 BA termies (with captain) teleported next to my mounted Black Guradians (With Seer Council) and Swords of Vaul unit -the Ulthwé army also has a strategy rating of 5 - I won the initiative, get the termies (intermingled formation) with my two units, and break them in CC with my skimmers popping up. :) Eldar are EVIL with their full move consoliation! The Warlock is a BEAST, against a CC type army it's even better :)

The second was against a Saranes army -It's a SM + IG combination. There was a HUGE HQ formation in Landing Craft (!!!), Termies in Land Raiders, Mechanized infantry, Vultures and Warhounds (2 in a pack, and 1 lone one).
My BA Army was a fully drop/teleport army. 3 termies (Supreme commander, Captain), 2 tacticals, DC tactical in a Strike Cruiser, and planetfalling one Stormraven formation, with Whirlwind and Thunderbolt support. The dice was against me, i failed 2+ activations many times, etc. The drop was in the middle, next to the guys on overwatch. 3 drop pods hit the LR-s, even killed one, with the termies inside :) The stormravens and the Orbital Bombardement hit the Warhound pack, but killed none of them :( The vultures hunted down the stormravens, the mechanized guys marched next to their Blitz, the Warhounds killed a lot of units in the middle, wiping out one of the Tacticals. :(
Next to the Blitz, the Landing Craft with the HQ landed (I rolled 1 for my Tbolts, to activate previously), assaulted the Whirlwinds, let only one broken survivor :)

In the Second turn my termies arrived, 2 fomations together with a captain get the landed HQ + the Mechanized Company (intemringled formation), killing 13 units, losing only 3 :D Both of them fled. :) The other termies with my Supreme Commander get the Land Raiders (with termies inside -enemy BTS), with the DC and one tactical formation together. They wiped them out, without leaving a chance to them to disembark :)
The game was a finsihed, becasue it was late.

So my opinion is a Terminator unit (With a COMMANDER) is a big thing, if you play with a drop army! It helps you to correct the scatter of the drop pods -but at least 3 is needed, so one can operate with the dropped guys, and the other 2 can kill anything ,even an Emperor titan! :) the Saranes list is too strong, with strong IG units, 5+ CC, 6+ save? WTF?? IG in Landing Craft? WTF??
