A few things done wrong, were playing that swarms died when synapse dies, rather than end of turn (not that it made much difference in this game though). Regarding 9.2.1 list, like the option to spawn as action, gives more tactical flexibility, also getting rid of brood (x) is very good too. Balance of some of vehicles better. Not so much love for the independent vs brood gargoyles distinction (and raveners/trygons for that matter). Is confusing I think... I bought gargoyles as broods and allocated to Harridans, but don't think that is correct, list says they are bought as independents?? Seems a bit messy in terms of rules elegance to me, like maybe they should be one or the other. Also I'm running out of gaunts with the 2-1 ratio to uncommons... feels like a rather excessive ratio of gaunts to other things required. |

A good looking game. Why no power fist on the Phantom, and does the Eldar player regularly take all scorpion aspect formations? |

Thanks for the report! Markconz wrote: Also I'm running out of gaunts with the 2-1 ratio to uncommons... feels like a rather excessive ratio of gaunts to other things required. Gargoyles and Raveners also count for that 2-1 ratio, not just Gaunts, so you've got some flexibility. The 2-1 ratio is in place to prevent people from taking the minimum of cheapest Common Brood and then maximizing their Uncommon Broods, but it's being examined in testing/development. More comments to come. |

@look, Yes Tim often uses pure scorps (or Banshees!!). Double Pulsar Phantom is useful I reckon, esp end of turm redeploy for 1st activation sustain at big nasty. @Chroma, Yeah I realise the GG and RV count, but not sure why. Something doesn't feel quite right to me about Gargoyles, but particularly the Raveners being common like Gaunts. They are independent fast attack specialists rather than synapse controlled fodder. Being independent rather than common might help clear up list confusion too. I'd be tempted to try out gaunts 1-1 with uncommons and see if it can be broken. Gaunts would still outnumber uncommons (min 4, vs 1-3 max per brood for uncommons), and would enable less one dimensional lists. Anyway another 4K battle vs marines yesterday, will get report up ASAP. |

Good report as well as inspiring! Nice to see painted armies and terrain ![]() I often face Tyranids, either with my Eldar or my Squats and the big swarms also cause me problems. I think an aggressive Eldar force could be the way to go, perhaps more cc-heavy - scorpions is also my favorite, although my Dire Avengers and Fire Dragons always prove their points worth against the Nids. lookatmybiglongname wrote: A good looking game. Why no power fist on the Phantom, and does the Eldar player regularly take all scorpion aspect formations? Yeah as mark has mentioned its the most common aspect formation i feild, eldar have alot of FF in the rest of there army so its nice to have the SS for that punchy role and cracking L/R, Russ etc that are often weak in a CC role but still high value targets. As for the phantom, i just like the idea of 2 pulars it has a nice scary factor that can keep the enemy from rushing up with larger W/E's and make them more catious whichs lets the eldar have more options with there moving, and if the actual truth be told my opponet made me take it as it was the only titan i have close to being finished painting so it made for better pictures haha. I have a question. I've been looking at the army list and says that we can only spend at a third of point in Bio Titans, but counting your army I get some points more than the third. Does the Dominatrix count as a bio titan? Sergi |
