MNB played the Death Korp of Krieg list this past weekend. While I didn't have a chance to play against him I took some pictures of the board. MNB will be by soon to comment on the lists and the play and all that. |

my first time playing this army. usually play necron and orc so i wanted something completly different. my first game against the black legion (first time my opponent used them) was a rather easy win for me. he brought everything right up on top of me so i was able to pretty much overwatch or sustain for the whole game. terminators telelported and sustaining 3 BMs, half his formation. he then assaulted my gun line and lost horribly. that was first turn and it didn't get any better. a question on deployment, is it ok to replace an objective w/ a bunker? we were playing that it was. the bunker now becomes the objective, similar to a wraitgate. sorry this is not much of a battle report but it was a week ago and we weren't really taking notes on the game (was too busy trying to find proxy pieces for all those infantry stands) |

my second game against IG was much closer (this against my first opponent's 12 yo son). he brought 2 mech inf foremations to the far side engaging one inf co. i had 2 cos spread out pretty much across the board (a mistake i wil not make again) so i was not able to shoot w/ 1 of them. turn 2 he had broken the first inf co and taken up resisdence in the trenches. unfortunately he took them so quick the rest of his support was not there fast enough and i was able to toss him back out (thanks to those huge rough rider cos). it was forced to a fourth turn and i won 3-0. thoughts on this army: how does one deal w/ teleporters? w/ most of your formations immobile it would be pretty hard to withstand that. deployment: as mentioned i had pretty much a straight line across the board w/ trenches. it seems like a double row would have been better. do most people garrison them on the BK obj or the 2 front ones? BK i guess would be good way to fend off teleporters, but then slow moving inf have to run up for the last obj. |

is it ok to replace an objective w/ a bunker? Technically objectives occupy zero space, so you could put a bunker 'on top of' an objective, or replace it in other words, yes. how does one deal w/ teleporters? w/ most of your formations immobile it would be pretty hard to withstand that. They don't deal well with Teleporters attacking backfield guns and support platforms... but teleporters assaulting entrenched Death Korps formations is typically a bad idea due to their fairly large static combat resolution. Beware one end of your entrenched formation getting clipped though, as the DK formations are unweildy and easy to clip. deployment: as mentioned i had pretty much a straight line across the board w/ trenches. it seems like a double row would have been better. do most people garrison them on the BK obj or the 2 front ones? BK i guess would be good way to fend off teleporters, but then slow moving inf have to run up for the last obj. I tend to have one inf co. entrenched, and a second one in Gorgons to go objective hunting. |

Cool! Thanks for showing off my scenery like that!  ![]() I usually try to set up a "defence in depth" with two partially concentric arcs of trenches; one encircling the Blitz and then the next anchored on another objective, if possible, as a "front line".  Sets up a "crossfire" zone between the lines if the enemy appears between. |
