Land Speeder Detachment 1
 + Supreme Commander

Supreme Commander in a Land Speeder detachment?!?  I don't think I've ever seen that before!

Looking forward to the match, Hena!

Note: the devs were inside a T-hawk.

Chroma, I've used an SM SC in a Land Speeder many times a few years back. It's not bad; the formation is cheap and has Scout so it's not a priority target for arty. Also, the things are fast, which makes them able to skulk around behind terrain features and lead assaults with Commander.

Interesting battle Hena.  In my last few games we've had a number of occassions where assaults ended up going contrary to "the odds" such as occured in your game here.  I guess it's the "random factor of war" (which is why I think it works more for Orks than anyone else   ).

I have to admit I am not up to date with the Tyranid rules, but your game looked fairly balanced (well it looked like a bloody slaughter, but a balanced one!).

Looked like the Marines were suffering from a fair amount of attrition though.  Do you think the Tyranids would have turned it around had there been a 4th turn (assuming you made your rally)?

Thanks for the report Hena!

This list was now done with full interest in the rules and not the kind of army that I'd like. Hive Tyrants are just plain better than Warriors in too many cases that I don't think I will bother by Warriors much any more if they remain LV.

Well, considering Tyranid Warriors as LVs will probably go down to 100 points for three, can you expand on the areas where Hive Tyrants are 'just plain better'?  The Hive Tyrand suffers the same "vulnerablilty" to fire in a mixed swarm as do LV Warriors, and that single Hive Tyrant can't use Gaunts to soak any hits at all.  Three Warriors allows you more area control and doesn't have the potential "one failed save ends the swarm" vulnerability, gives you more attacks, and a "bigger" swarm.

I'm just curious.

The Marines would've been totally hosed on turn 4. It was bad...

I liked the Tyranids, but I agree on the 4+ CC on the Ravener.
