Thanks for the Batrep, Hena. It was interesting to see in action an IG army with no infantry or artillery. Too bad the IG player failed so many activations.

Thanks for the batrep! Really enjoyed it here at work in my tea time break :)

Perhaps I'm too biased but I would haven been very surprised if the IG player had won the game with this army setup.
Did he play it out of playtesting issues or was it due to a special scenario?
Even if he had crushed more of the SM forces he wouldn't have been able to sieze enough objectives.
(Too few activations, units too slow.)
Two BTS goals (2xLR Company) - better increase/reduce points for one comp to only have one BTS formation.
Why not take the mechanized Inf w. SC? It's an invaluable unit for IG, I never play without it.
A friend of mine tested an "all tank" IG army several times and suffered badly, too!

PS: Hena how do you like the oldcrow city block? I have 3 myself (2big, 1small) and they are really nice and well cast, although not that cheap for 10/12.50GBP

Nice battle rep as normal Hena.

I actually like the idea of a complete tank IG army, pity it didn't perform that well.   I wonder what would have happened under NetEpic rules?

I might have to play that one out!

The game I played last week, I almost went with just Titans and Knights.  :p

I must admit that I made my list in a hurry and after some thinking I decided to take all-tank army. Poor choice as I didn't really enjoy playing it in the tourney. I would have had lots of infantry, possibly artillery and only couple tanks in the list if I wasn't such a lazy painter :p

In this game I saw in the beginning that I'm going to get outmanouvered no matter what I try. And one of my most crucial errors was to let those Land Speeders fly free.

It didn't help at all that I lost my will to play in the first turn when I forgot the 'Intermingling' rule and pretty much doomed my 2 activations. Well I hope I've learned my lesson in this and probably in the next tourney I won't make the same mistake. Atleast I'll 'try' to get all my infantry painted and then I'm able to field atleast 3 Infantry Comppanies plus Regimental HQ. *sigh* But the painting... :p

Limitations of painted/available models can be a pain in the ass sometimes ...
Good idea to paint more grunts, they'll help you alot  :;):

Just out of interest: What was the overall performance of your IG tank army in the tourney?
