me and rag had another game today and i rolled so bad i commited suiside about 5 times (rag only cared about me getting blood on his models

Deployment
Fluffy garrisoned the fex herd off of Objective two and I refused to garrison (No way was I going to start near a nid swarm.

With regular deployment, two support formations started in the Corvus assault pod whilst the third started opposite the fex herd, with the Clibinarii Ala and Palatina maniple in support.  Castellum Perdition and the two Comitatenses cohorts started next to the blitz.

Fliffy deployed every single bio titan in cover behind woods, whilst the massive gaunt swarm started in the open ready to advance in support of the fex herd.

guard iniative

blades advance on fexes 2 fall in a heaps of plasma and 1 dyes to demo cannon

Rag retains with the flyboys advancing on the fexes they place only a single bm

the fexes then return the favour

the huge gaunt brood advances after big momma tells them to get on with it

the fire surrport unit places 1 more bm on the fexes

the dominatrix marches but its bared hyrodule walks into a tree

warlod doubles and blows one of the sythed hyroduoles many arms off

harradian flys into tree Dohhhhhh before it takes off again and drops 2 voids

the second cohort sustades at big momma but places just 1bm

hydraphant marches and dosen't walk into tree ?:D ?:D

supreme commander makes his cohort fire on big momma only 1bm

the two heirophants don't walk into trees after they fail their activation

all bar the flyboyz rally and only the odd bm here and their

2 fexes regenerte from the molten plasma

Surrport squad sustain on fexes 1bm

harradian engages (only because it auto did it)


and dies on warlord due to wind screen wipers




fexes fail to activate (suicide bang blood brains)

blades sustain on fexes

guants march towards second cohort

second cohort advances on gaunts 11 dead guants and a warrior



flyboys rally as do fexes and guants down to 4bm

titans remove bm for failed activation
big momma dosen't rally
2 fexes and a hormaguant stand are spawned in gaunt brood

The scary thing is that the big bugs will now cost me about ?25 (1ish carnifex boxes), but the small titans will now cost me ?40 + the cost of a dominatrix.  Damn gamesworkshop remove bitz service  :angry:

Well Fluffy makes it look worst that it is.  My attacks weren?t that great but his saves were... well crap.  When he managed to sneak a 2nd turn assault on my warlord I thought it was all over.  Then he failed, what was it 7 out of 11 4+RA saves, and it wasn?t my first strike attacks they only caused 2DC of damage

He then panicked when he failed almost every single activation and threw his Harridan at my warlord, which was smashed from the air by 8 4+ and 2 5+ first strike attacks.

After that it was all but over.  I was worried about the massive swarm being able to take apart Cohort secundus and then grab objective 1 and blitz (Though cohort prime could of sacrificed itself to contest the blitz).

The rest of the battle went according to plan.  I used my Hellstrike missiles and super heavy tanks to try to knock out the fex herd, and more importantly  its? tryant.  I hoped to get this on the first tur but I wasn?t able to lay down enough hits.

The rest of the plan revolved around baiting the nids forwards and then rushing past them to grab objectives, and it worked.

My warlord was tasked with dancing around the bio titans (keeping the big ones at least 21cm away and the small ones 26cm away).  When I wrote the list I didn?t realise that melta cannons have two shots and give +2 TK(D3) FF attacks (I thought it was one of each).  When I realised.  He went bug hunting, bagging himself.  4 Gargoyles, a Harridan, a Hydraphant, 2 Hierodules and a Dominatrix.  His corvus troops were a bit of a worry to me.  True they added another 10 first strike attacks, but they could also give Fluffy easy kills in an assault.

Overall I think Fluffy?s problem was (as well as his luck) that he wanted to field as many bio titans as he could fit into 3000pts.  Who could blame him after he saw what they did to the titan legion at 4000pts, but it meant that he was lacking troops on the ground and nice juicy targets for my warlord.  Which I had only taken for a spin to see how it worked (not bad for a first spin :D ).

For the Techguard.  I am still not sure what is balanced and what isn?t.  The troops are cheaper than their steel legion counterparts, but is this balanced by their lack of range.  I managed to paste 13 nids in a single round of shooting, then shrug off their assault (though that could be because my hormagaunts have never hit a target).

Luckily for me they need more testing, therefore more games to be played :D :D

I@ve also just remembered another thing.  If luffy had shot at my second cohort with the bio titans, prior to engaging them with the infantry swarm the the assult would of gone his way.  I would of had fewer men fighting back, and wouldn't have a +2 to combat res, due to having no blast markers and the swarm having 6

Fluffy is still also getting into the mind set of claiming objectives rather than the 40K approach of kill everything.
