4 Titans and a bunch of knights.  This is going to be easy!

I mean it isn't as if I don't have any weapons that and shoot.  Let alone get through void shields.

Oh Well, they always said that canned processed foods were bad for you :p

Here is the titan battle group

For this battle I will be using the Ragnarok iteration with the followig change:

Lictors lose MW on their extra attack, but gain sniper on their notes section.

I will also be seeing how the 1:1 common:uncommon ratio works, rather than using %.

The Horde

5 Lictors

4 Lictors

2 Hierophants

Hydraphant

Warriors,
? with
3 lots of Hormagaunts
2 lots of Raveners
5 lots of Termagaunts

Tyrant
? with
2 lots of Dactylis

Tyrant
? with
3 lots of carnifexi

Harridan on its own

Dominatrix
? with
2 hierodules (possible both scythed if I can make one tonight)

And here is the tyranid horde.

The plan is to stay away from the imperator and warlord, since they have lots of shots, and the Reaver since it has more and better attacks in CC than my own titans.  So I will be picking on the Warhound and the knights.

Set up

Garrisons
The fex herd deployed in the wood, just behind a wrecked Reaver, the titan legio had nothing to garrison

Other set up
Lady Isabella and her knight set up in the middle of the table, with righteous prejudice and Romulus off to their left (Romulus is hidden behind the forest) and the knights to the right, guarding the blitz

On the nd side the warrior led infantry swarm (aka the bullet catchers) set up in a wood, behind a hill, they really didn?t like their job.  Big momma set up right opposite the Imperator, and the rest of the swarm hid behind the fex infested forest.

Turn 1

The warrior led swarm marched out of the wood, after big momma had a word with them, over the hill and right into the firing arcs of the Imperator titan and the knights guarding the blitz.

The Lady decides that such a tempting target should go to waste and advances upon them, blasting apart a total of 16 gaunts and Raveners.

The knights are then ordered to advance upon the massed nid infantry, but decide against it and instead just fire their long ranged cannons, killing another 3 stands of gaunts.

The Carnies then march out of the wood and end next to the large pile of rocks, ready to savage the warlord.

The warlord, however decides to take the fight to them and walks around the boulders and firefighters the close combat monsters.

In the combat 4 of the fex are blasted apart, ut inreturn all of the titans void shields are taken down and a single venom cannon shot hits the hull of the towering war machine.  However the hit is saved.

The fex lose combat by a fair bit, I then realise that fex are all fearless, so no hack downs.  The erd then flees, so that it surrounds the warlord.

The warhound then doubles forwards to capture the far objective and opens fire on the bio artillery.  All of the Vulcan mega bolter shots miss, but two shots from the plasma blast gun crisps a single exocrine.

In response the two Hierophants advance upon the warhound.  In a shocking display of shooting, they knock down both shields and cause 2 DCs of damage to the scout titan.  The broken scout carries on its mad dash forwards and hides behind a wood, unaware of what is lurking on the other side.

The Reaver then marches straight down the field and stops besides the fallen remains of its brethren.  Its intent clearly understandable to the bio constructs opposite.

The Harridan then advances, flaps high into the sky and fires a volley of shots into the cowering warhound, before dropping down back into cover behind the woods, before the AA battery on top of the Imperator could track it.  However the snap shots were able to smash though the top armour of the warhound destroying its? reactor and felling the titan.

The Dominatrix then doubles towards the Reaver firing as it goes, knocking down one of its void shields.

The Hydraphant then doubles forwards as well, staying close to its momma, incase she wants him to help out with anything.

End Phase
Everyone but the warriors rally (who fail on a 1).

I gain 6 spawn points which spawn 2 carnifexi back into the herd.

Turn 2

The 4 strong Lictor formation teleport in front of the Reaver, gaining 1 BM for their troubles.

The Imperator advances on the infantry swarm ,blastoing aprt a further 14 gaunts and Ravaners, and 2 broods of warriors.  This breaks the brood, which flees back into the wood.

The knights then advance on the Lictors, they cause three hits, but all are saved.

The Lictors then engage the reaver.  In a display of impetus they only cause a single DC of damage and are wiped out in return.

Then Big momma charges the Reaver, calling on the Hydraphant to join in.

The Reaer slays both Hierodules and causes 3DC of damage to the Hydraphant, however, it is ripped apart in return.

The warlord then engages the fex herd surrounding it, as they counter charge, one of the fex slams into a tree and kills itself.

The combat isn?t as brutal as I had hoped, only 2Dc of damage is caused (why can?t I hit with 3+MW attacks?), and 4 fex are killed.  The broken herd flees towards the right side objective.

The bio artillery then advances on the warlord, firing as they go.  Causing 1DC of damage and a critical.

The Harridan then advances on the warlord, with a bit of prodding from big momma, and cause an additional DC of damage to the warlord.

Finally the two Hierophants advance on the warlord, causing a further 2 DC of damage to it, breaking the titan that flees right upto the bio artillery, hoping that its plasma reactor will explode taking them out.

End phase
The dominatrix, Hydraphant, fex herd all rally, the Tyranid infantry doesn?t (on a 1), nor does the warlord.

! get 5 spawning points which spawn a carnifex and two hormagaunts in the bio artillery swarm.

The Hydraphant regenerates 2DC and the Warlord fixes it?s plasma reactor

Turn 3

The 5 strong Lictor swarm teleport in behind the Imperator titan, again they get a single BM.

The Knights advance on the Dominatrix. ?Their disrupt cannons place 6BM on the beast, but no damage is done.

The Imperator then advances out of the ZoC of the Lictors and fires upon the Dominatrix. ?Causing 3DC of damage and a further 2 due to critical!

The broken big momma flees straight into the surprised looking Imperator titan.

The Lictors then engage the Imperator from behind, forcing the dominatrix to fight (did we do this right?) ?

The Lictors do 2Dc of damage to the titan and Big momma does 3. ?In return two Lictors are trodden on.

The nids lose the assault and two more Lictors die whilst the Dominatrix backs off.

The bio artillery then sustains fire at the nearby warlord, and do nothing.

The Harridan then engages the warlord in close combat, with supporting fire from the bio artillery and the bio titans.

In the first round of combat both Wes suffer a single point of damage and the dice off forces a second round. ?The Harridan flaps around in a random fashion and the warlord blows it out of the sky.

The bio titans then try to march to intercept the Imperator, they fail so they shoot at the warlord instead, finally bringing it down.

End Phase
The dominatrix, Hydraphant, bio titans and Lictors Rally, The Imperator doesn?t, nor does the infantry swarm (on another fething 1!)

! don?t regenerate anything, but big momma does give birth to a beautiful, beautiful butterfly....err I mean scythed hierodule (I would feel bad about this, but I was facing a titan legion.

Turn 4

The Imperator gets ready to do something, and fails!

In response Big momma declares a combined assault with the Hydraphant on the Imperator.

The Scythed Hierodule suffers a single point of damage, whilst in return the Imperator suffers 8DC of damage and breaks.

The Knights double forwards to get into my half and shot in the vague direction of Big momma.

The Bio titans double on the Imperator and drop 4 of its void shields, nothing else to do.

The bio artillery sustain fire at the Imperator, dropping the remaining voids.

The Fex herd shuffle around a bit.

The remaining Lictor rushes to the titan legion blitz and secures it.

The nids win 2-0, with blitz and take and hold.

After Action Bull Session.

I was worried about facing an Imperator, not the other titans, but I was Lucky and Fluffy focused on an expendable formation (whose only possible job was to try to fire fight the knights).  We played a second game afterwards when he focused on my bio titan and I had nothing left after turn 3 (though I did drown my own dominatrix).

On the lists.  We decided that the Imperator needs a slightprice hike.  It does break reasonable easily (according to fluffy) but it does dish out a lot of firepower.  With it focuses its firepower its target swarm would be hit by 20 AP4+/AT4+, 8 AP5+/AT3+ shots and a BP6 attack.  Is poor CC value does compensate, but it is just so damn hard to kill to pretty much sts the enemy form getting BTS.

On the nid side the broken (or even worst broken fearless) charges of the nids were sickening, but since the broken swarm would only rally on a 4+, so it is a bit hit and miss.  The spawning feels fine.  I could reinforce a few big things or a load of small things.  I am not a fan of fearless on the fexes.  Especially under the Ragnarok Iteration, it makes them to powerful, and why do they have fearless, when their bigger brothers don?t have it.

Note that under the revision to the 'fearless' rule, you can no longer go into b2b when broken (Which happened a few times here).

We used the paper rulebook.

Fluffy is new so we are starting with that. with:

MW barrages use AP column

All CC attacks get to be allocated in one round (so you don't lose MW ones if you are too good with your basic one)

Did the Imperator have nothing in range to shoot at when it failed its activation?

Nasty fight, regardless!

I did the "cheating thing" of moving broken fearless things into base contact with it, so it had to move away.

It is hard to feel bad about such a tactic when it is done against an Imperator.

Ah, gotcha... guess I've been playing with the "new" fearless rule too long.
