:)) LOL

Well, they do warn that lightning strikes hit trees so I guess it's the same with Artillery Strikes too.
So when will you get to teach these opponents what the IG can do? Rematch on the horizon?

Yes so will we... or maybe not.

Forgot to include this photo... my allies orbital bombardment missing the enemy completely and almost hitting our own troops :sigh:

To be fair, if he hadn't listened to my advice and had chosen his original target it would have worked better...

How long the game took? There are people here contemplating on running a megabattle and I would be interested how much time it will take.

Started at 10:00, finished 15:15.

That includes setting up the table, Chaos sorting out their army, a break for lunch, stops to go to the bar to get drinks etc. :agree: Also it was the first game using Chaos in a while so we spent a fair bit of time looking up stats and rules for them, and getting confused over discrepancies between army builder stats and the handbook stats...

I think experienced players should be able to get through a game this size using the standard multiplayer simultaneous team game rules in 4 hours comfortably, maybe 3 hours if you were pressed for time and didn't muck about too much.

Nice game! And for Alfakta no less. 8v) :agree:

So, the answer to my question about taking spaceships got an answer.  :sigh:
A bit to much guessing game there thou, not like the GW games of today.

So, 8000 points per side but you say only half the army taken . . . how did you come up with the army sizes? Also, what were the table dimensions? I presume something like 12' x 4'; if so there seem to be a lot of open spaces which would favour the remaining direct fire capabilities of the IG.

It sounds like you were running the game like an extended version of a tournament scenario that got limited to four turns. How many objectives were in play and, as it was a Simultaneous game, did you trip over any strange gaming situations? Also, did you have any "special" rules eg. for off-table forces?

At five hours duration, you seem to have rattled through the game - did it feel rushed (you mention stopping for food, drinks etc)?

Wow so many questions Ginger!!

How did we come up with army sizes? The Chaos players didn't really have any more viable formations so the limit was set at 4000 each in this game...

12x5, but deployment and blitz were all 15cm further in. Yes good for IG in theory, though extra space also means Chaos could be more dispersed on way in to avoid the barrages, and with more potential attack approaches, plus harder for the imperial guard to turtle, more room for teleporters to get behind the lines... etc. There were pluses and minuses perhaps.

Just standard tournament scenario, not extended beyond 4 turns. Just the normal 3 objectives a side. Strange gaming situations no, though some miscommunication and 'debate' between allies over what formations should be heading where is always fun...

No, didn't feel rushed, but then I don't think this is really a big game - it's not really that different to playing a normal 4K game! I've done 12K games in the same time before, with me controlling all of the 12K on one side.

Now this looks like the Epic games I remember from yesteryear! Very exciting. I don't think I would have been unable to field a Warlord in a game this size though. Still your Reavers looked to be damn sexy. Any chance of a close-up photo of them?

Cheers, yeah 4K still doesn't feel like there's too many points to play with sadly.

Reavers (were waiting for their bases to be finished in this shot).

What was the original target?

He wanted to hit one of the two Chaos take and hold objectives. Either the manor house, or between the hill and forest where you were. Both were swarming with enemies turn 3 too, three pie plates would have been handy.

That's some sweet Reavers there, man!

White armor plates on titans look surprisingly good.
