Please find attached the latest update of the Orkstein's Gargant BigMob list, plus the other Ork lists that I've been working on.

The following changes have been enacted based on player feedback and my own playtesting:

- Mega Gargant dropped from 1050pts to 1000pts
- Mega Gargant now unlocks 4 support slots instead of 3
- Kustom Stompas dropped from 175pts to 150pts
- Bommerz dropped from 200pts to 150pts
- Some typos found and fixed

This version also includes datafaxes for the new units for the first time.

Question E&C, so a loota warband oddboy can take a kustom upgrade or a big kustom upgrade. Does that mean the warband has to take big guns so he can replace a big gun with it, or he doesnt have to replace a big gun he just gets it?

If you want to take a Kustom or Big Kustom upgrade in a Warband, you need a Gargant grade weapon to swap with... so that means you'll need to have taken the Warband that has 2 Big Gunz, and then replaced one Big Gun with an Oddboy. You can then swap the Oddboy for a Kustom or Big Kustom upgrade.

If doing a Mega Gargant list (I've not tried it out yet, concentrating on the other options first), I'd be tempted by something similar to:

Mega Gargant - 1000
Loota Warband (2 Big Gunz) w. Oddboy (Zzap) - 225
Loota Warband (2 Big Gunz) w. Oddboy (Megalobba) - 225
Loota Warband (2 Big Gunz) w. Oddboy (Gatling Cannon) - 225
Loota Warband (2 Big Gunz) w. Oddboy (Zzap) w. Big Kustom Upgrade (Wyrdboy Tower) - 275

Gargant (Zzap, Supagun, Snappa) - 650
Drop Rok - 200
Loota Warband (2 Killa Kans) w. 1 extra Killa Kan - 200

8 Activations (1 Immobile)

My rough plan would be to drop to Rok on turn 1 likely with the Kan Warband inside, messing up their deployment zone with an Engagement if possible. Against more of a CC army I'd load the Megalobba or Wyrdboy tower formation into it instead, but that leaves the backfield without as much AA (only the Mega Gargant). Push to objectives near the centreline with the rest of the army.

I've forgone any Fighta-Bommers as a Mega Gargant list probably needs formations on the ground more than it needs the deep strike offered by aircraft. I was tempted by a Grot Guided Missile Oddboy on a Warband, but again I think that's a tool best saved for a list without a Mega Gargant.

I think a list with a supa Stompa might be workable if you dropped the Rok and swapped a warband for a Supa Stompa.

I certainly wouldn't consider any of these Mega Gargant lists that are getting only 4-5 activations on the ground.

If anyone wants to take over development of these lists, including the Gargant Bigmob list, I'm stepping back from working on them, as my Orks vs. Mechanicus supplement has been cancelled.

I guess people should apply to Chroma as ERC Xenos guy if they're interested in taking over the task of development.

Any more details on the cancellation Ben? I know myself and a couple of the Bristol Players were very much looking forwards to this and have recently been talking about developing a supplement/lists ourselves...seeing as we've already got many of the models needed perhaps we could take over?

I'll make them aware of this post and see what they think. For reference I'm talking about EdgarSan, myself, and Reedar.

I wouldn't mind taking the list over. I'll PM Chroma.

The Mechanicus army champion has gone in a development direction for the Mechanicus which isn't compatible with the story I'd written.

Having already written a fully formatted 30,000 word story on the subject, plus 40 datafaxes of a couple hundred words each, I don't have the heart left in me to do it again but with a different opponent race or different style of Mechanicus opponent.

The whole thing has rather killed my desire to do any more list development work, but these Ork lists can I'm sure be finished in most cases with minimal effort, so if anyone wants to make use of them, please take 'em over.

I'd class the Stompy list as ready for Approved, and the Gargant list as good/stable.
The Kommando list is a modernising update of a well regarded stable list too so it too should be fine.
The Grotling Horde list isn't really meant to be balanced, but is just for fun.
And the Speed Freaks list is just the NetEA list with a new name to match the now-dead supplement.

Hey E&C,

Gutted to hear this, was looking forward to laying my hands on this.

Currently mulling over taking this on with MoK...

Cheers

I mourn the loss of any work that is put into supplements. E&C, any chance I can get copies of the work you've done (original documents, etc.) for document retention purposes only? In the event this situation changes/improves/whatever I'd like to be able to have that bulk of work at the ready. Nothing would be done with it without your permission, of course. But you know perfectly well what happens to cherished data... POOF!!

In the event that someone else develops the required Mechanicus list styles (PDF & Armoured), I have the file backed up in my Drop Box.
