Hello everyboy! I've been thinking about making an orc army lately - the idea would be to make a kind of mekboy army with only Stompas, SuperStompas, Dreads, Killa Khans, Gargants and FightaBommers. I played a test game vs. Eldar the other day, and got smashed to pieces. The army had 6 (or 7 - cannot remember) activations in total, with one unit of 3 aircraft, 1 great gargant and one SupaStoma. Rest of it was just Stompas and mostly Dreads (one or two Khans). 3000pts. I am posting because I'd like to have some input on the army; what would you think to make a good army? What I learned from the game was that the army is slow, despite being able to set up many formations as garrison. Also it seems one unit of aircraft is not enough. Maybe two units of 4 planes would be better. And I won't take a great Gargant in the future when playing 3000pts. But I am still not sure if it would be better to take one gargant and less planes or take SupaStompas insted of the gargant (and thus increasing the strength of the STompa mobs). So, please do share your insights! ![]() BTW.: I am not aiming for a competitive tournament army here, I want it to be a fun army - I just do not want to loose every game I play! ![]() mostly I am doing this because I really like the old plastic stompa models! cheers, M |

Gives you a few more options for your war engines and some special rules that help mitigate some of this type of army's slowness. It can be found, with a bunch of other Ork armies, here in the NetEA Ork DRAFT document. |
